I live within earshot of a grade school. Today there were children wailing "Monster Mash" karaoke-style. I thought, whatever, it's a novelty song, thus pretty short. It ends, and then about 3 minutes later it starts again. Kill me.

its like this high level production video her friends husband made her friend (he edits videos for a living). I know this is a ****ing trap, so I shut my mouth and act enthused while she sits on my lap. It quickly becomes apparent that this video is going to detail their ENTIRE lives together (two people I dont know or give a **** about mind you), we are 2 minutes in and I move the mouse so I can see how long the video is in total. 19 minutes. oh heeell no!

What would yalls cutoff time in running length be before you endured the fallout of kicking her out?

This is addresses a bigger faux pas which is making me watch a YouTube video over a certain time limit. I feel like anything under 45 seconds is completely acceptable, even 2-3 of them if I clearly like the first one.

When people tell me I have to watch some video and turn the monitor while I'm standing and I see it's 2:53 I just get filled with a weird emotion of rage and boredom.

I was at some guy's house at a party once and mentioned I've never seen Star Wars so he pops in Episode 4 and tells me "I have to watch it!" are you ****ing kidding me?

hah! as soon as I saw how long it was I pretty much went "oh hell no! nuh uh, Im sorry im not watching all of this!" She claims she doesnt care, but the house is now ominously quiet. Prolly shouldnt have been so dramatic about it, but I was floored by how long the stupid video was and kinda shocked she even thought to make me sit through it

I prolly would have tolerated it had I seen it was 6 minutes long (given I was already 2 in), 7, im not sure. 8 and I would have shut that **** down.

Optimal line is girlfriend dependent and relationship dependent. With my gf I could easily get away with turning it into a joke or saying "oh I just remembered I have to shove a q-tip too deep into my ears", but if she was more sensitive, I think it's better to deflect in a quieter, less conspicuous way.
