I wouldn't think Canada allows Americans to just move there with no home or job.

I've given up on women so that's not relevent to me. Where in Asia can you make a living off live poker?

Possibly Manila. Ask in the Asia travel threads.

What the hell did Vegas do to you? It literally is everything you need as long as your body can handle biking for 20 minutes in the heat.

The CAD/USD disparity was too high for me to justify Calgary. Looks like Phoenix. Moving in April

Good thing you decided not to pack your **** only to be turned away at the border.

Pretty odd for a NL pro to move to a state that doesn't offer NL games in the casinos.

500 max bet. I play low stakes it's essentially NL

Spread limit is not essentially NL. You'll realize this when you're betting 500 on the turn into a 1500 multiway pot, or when you keep trying to 3 & 4bet preflop using NL bet sizes, but good luck man.

If he's playing 2/5 or lower that will be a very infrequent occurrence

Considering it's very infrequent in a 2/5 NL game too, no ****, but the 3/5/500 there does not play like a NL game. I'm not saying he wouldn't be able to learn to beat it, but with his roll he should probably start at 1/2 and ideally look for a game that is 1/2/500 (which is probably rare) to accommodate his current skill set.

Lol, answer if you're just looking for life happiness is clearly Brazil. With Mehico or different south american countries being ties for 2nd.

Of course, its tough to grind poker in an area like that where there's not an influx of USD.

So sticking in the US seems right.

I'd have went to California. LA, as you mentioned is pretty expensive, but Northern California, around Sacramento, or up to Santa Rosa, or down to Oakland/SF, you could definitely find an area that's not too bad. And there are literally dozens of good card rooms within a few hours drive. You're only 5 hours or so from LA when you wanna go down there.

And the food. My god man, the food. Happy cow has hundreds of results in the Oakland/SF area. It is probably the most vegan friendly area in the world. There are many many restaurants that are exclusively vegan, and virtually all of them have vegan options.

Generally I like NorCal better than SoCal, but SoCal has more affordable areas and more poker.

NorCal definitely gets the nod in terms of vegan friendly atmosphere, but they both have plenty and much more than hippie vegan restaurants there are tons of Indian restaurants where it is very easy to be vegan.

One of my vegan friends is moving to Phoenix and pitched the idea of being roommates. I think it's as close to ideal as I can hope for: Decent poker, cheap COL, reasonably close to Vegas/Cali, and mild winters.

Sounds good… except for having an obnoxious, militant vegan for a roommate.

Spoiler:
Hopefully they'll get over it.

I live here and no, would not recommend for a live pro. Maybe go a bit to the south - Croatia and even that is debatable.

Great, so you're gonna get raided by the FBI for housing an ALF member.

Don't you think that being a live-pro limits the places to the english speaking?

I can't imagine playing life, dealing with all things like angle-shooting, small-talk, basically all issues at the table, without language.

And no, poker is not always played in english.
