To all whom it may concern (ie Dids) I have changed my mind about Intuition and am really digging his album.

I have stuff grouped in folders in Google Reader. Actually Lifehacker is by itself, so essentially I am just visiting the site. But with less website clutter, and the ability to easily star/email individual entries.

I've made like 25% on my IRA in the last couple of months, most of it in a few days. Somehow I picked a winner in Ashland (NYSE:ASH).

Anyway, today is the birthday of this girl I know. I went to high school with her, and part way through college we became **** buddies on winter / summer breaks and she'd call me any time she was home, even just for a weekend. Now we've both graduated and both have real jobs and we don't talk as much. When she comes home for whatever reason she never tells me.

So she probably got tired of my d**k, but she's a really cool, motivated chick and I'd like to keep hanging out with her even if we're not banging.

Anyway -- do I wish her a happy birthday?

Expanding on that, do you typically say HBD to ex girlfriends, **** buddies, wives, etc.

Are you happy with the way things are? If not, dropping her a happy birthday is a fine way to start talking again.

As far as the bigger picture it all depends on how friendly you are. Sometimes a HBD is just a HBD...

You know, I managed to skim the article, see it was about a rapper who killed some girl, and somehow completely missed the part about eating her. I take it back, then.

I don't, except I think he looks like the digitally reanimated Orville Redenbacher now.

Heartless bastard

I don't care about Ebert in the Oprah exploitation of tragedy type way. I care about Ebert because he is an incredibly talented writer, the epitome of class and he can cut through my layers of irony and cynicism with sincere humanist world view that isn't pandering or reductionist,

Mines this, but I also care that a guy so awesome suffers this tragedy and can't eat, drink or speak. If Joe Buck had lost all the ability to do those 3 things I wouldn't have felt sad (maybe even a slight hidden celebration).

wait, why's everyone talking about ebert today? did he die or something?
03-03-2010 , 02:10 PM
I read his reviews but as far as his health and the public love affair and everything I don't know anything about it or why it's so fascinating...not to sound cold.

Like the other day I added some Ebert to my Google Reader but soley based on his movie reviews.
03-03-2010 , 02:15 PM
Can't sleep? Why can't he sleep?
03-03-2010 , 02:30 PM
I care about what may be under that black thing around where his neck stuff used to be.
03-03-2010 , 03:52 PM
I'm not a big movie freak and especially don't give a **** about reviews. I've never given Ebert a second thought or read any of the links recently because I'm just not interested. My comments on Dids' video post would be applicable to any person going through that.

I heard ebert doesn't even like bacon. what a bastard!

NO ****ING HIPSTER SCUM, YOU CANNOT TAKE YOUR BABY INTO A BAR.
"Single hipsters and others without (and sometimes with) kids complain about being asked to watch their language, to not smoke outdoors near strollers and to keep their drunk friends under control so as not to scare the little ones"

This is what drives me crazy about this more than anything else. You bring your kid to a bar and start complaining about behavior you feel is inappropriate for the kid, you need to GTFO. There's a million places on Earth you can take small children and have all your concerns catered to, now stop trying to make life hell for the people who kept it wrapped up or at least are smart enough to not bring children into a bar.
