Can we go back to something for a second please?
Quote:
he may have the biggest gap between "online persona" and "what he's like IRL" that I've met on 2p2.
This is Sentence One of the relevant portion of Al's PJ analysis. Despite what he might say something wrong about, the earlier bit doesn't add any game-changing context and can be ignored for our purposes.
Again, Sentence One -
Quote:
he may have the biggest gap between "online persona" and "what he's like IRL" that I've met on 2p2.
Now, here's Sentence Two.
Quote:
A very likeable, mellow guy with a great sense of humor.
Readers - try those two sentences in succession.
What would you assume about the author's opinion of the subject's e-persona? Remember - 'biggest gap!'
Would the position 'no, actually, I think RL PJ is totally recognizable in e-PJ, because they aren't all that far apart - e-PJ is pretty cool too, just like real is pretty cool, though they have some differences!' seem like a reasonable statement on the face of it?
Or would you think, lol, l2read n00b?
