I just reported my posts with the name in it and asked the MOD to remove it. Its kinda silly of us to post ITT but the thread feels kinda save and it totally slipped my mind. It will still show up in google a few days after I think (mine was removed 4 days ago and still shows up).

The girl def. has some natural beauty qualities ....

Obviously ask her if she'll wear that sweater the first time you two have sex.

Do not include smileys in your first message, no complimenting her and play it cool! Sandra is baaallin' out of control

I'm semi-grunching this thread now. Has the smileys thing been discussed to death already? I sometimes put a smiley in a first message after a joke that might be interpreted as being too mean. No-no?

The odd smiley is fine in moderation.

The rule is that she should smiley first and then you can smiley. I also find all winky smilies gross all the time, but that is subjective. Too conditioned to cringe at it since it has usually followed something creepy and unfunny.

As with a lot of things in online dating and poker, it depends. I might do it if I see her using some in her profile, if I dont see any smilies in her profile Im probably not going to send any either. I will follow her lead on this one.

On the aspect of a smilie behind a joke, my hands WANT to do this when my jokes get edgier but on the other hand I feel like its a weakness. I feel its similar to saying "LOL LOOK AT ME I MADE A JOKE HERE FUN RIGHT DID YOU GET THE FACT IT WAS A JOKE ? I HAD TO PUT IN THIS SMILIE BECAUSE IM PRETTY SCARED OF OFFENDING YOU AND LOSING YOUR INTEREST" . I could be totally off tho.

This is *exactly* what I am thinking.

Edit: Probably the girl doesn't care if there is a smiley in the message as long as it follows the other message rules: nothing creepy, not too long, not too short.

I'm starting to have a hard time telling when people itt are leveling and when they're being serious...

Smiley's a legit debate. A couple really successful student life psoters have said no emoticons, they've talked to hot girls who said they dont like guys using emoticons...

Ended up getting together last night with the very pretty blonde girl that had cancelled Friday since she wasn't feeling well. Last night was another awesome date and I've definitely never hit it off with someone like this since I started this online dating thing. Including the one girl I had dated for a month before messing it up.

We already made plans to see each other again next weekend, only problem is I'm leaving next Sunday for a 2 week Europe vacation. I'm really hoping it doesn't kill the momentum.

I'll keep that in mind. Note to self: no smileys, better to risk offending her. That's manly.

Or you could just not offend her. I dunno

I'm going to abide to this rule unless she overloads me with them.

Erh, offending her isnt manly. Being sure about what you're saying and having no reservations about it is manly imo.

sublime update: zero success with chicks he's opened and he managed to kill a back and forth i had going with a girl who opened me by sending the message "Anyway lets grab a drink next week. Let me know when you're free."

i'm not sure if i'm more bothered by the cockblock or the fact that he doesn't use proper punctuation.

I think using smiles are lame. But you can use it sparingly after a while.

I think so because mine are different, but that's a new addition and I have no idea what it actually means.

So Jennitron needs just one successful date to beat sublime? That was a terrible performance.
