Get a drink with her as planned IMO. Avoid the third wheel sister and in no way would I bring a friend.

Did she say a specific day or open ended?

Have you guys run into girls who are hesitant to give out their #, but still continue messaging you?

Been messaging this chick for about a week now, asked her out for drinks and to msg me her number to set up details on the 3rd message. In her response she agreed to drinks, but said she was super busy with midterms/assignments (taking 2 courses over the summer) and never gave her #.

Anyway, after a couple more exchanges she messaged me Thursday saying she might be able to find time this weekend to get together and we would see. Now tonight I get a message from her asking how my weekend went (message 9 now)....

I'm guessing my play is to just see if she can meet up this week and ask for the # again?? Just really strange and not too sure how much longer I want to carry this on in case I'm getting trolled lol.

last week she specified tuesday and left it open as "i need to check if that day works best, ill let you know" and then just this today. my friend, sister's bf, lives about an hour away so hes not gonna come down just to see the movie.

LT, how would i do that? "dont really want to see the movie but id still be interested to get that drink?" something like that?

i feel like this is just a pre-pre-date? just afraid its a little too friend-zoney for my taste

movie,

She gave you a perfect out with her selection of "The Heat." I'd play it off with a "I think I'm gonna have to pass on The Heat, lol not exactly my kind of movie! <reschedule drink w/ her>"

That was my thought straight away as well. She has basically changed the outting from a 1 on 1 date to going to a movie with friends. Are your intentions clear here or does she just think you're a friend?

I assume you've spoken with your mate about this, what is his read?

Yes.

I basically got banned from POF for no reason. I hadn't done anything to warrant getting banned, and I tried to make a new acc with a new email and I couldn't, they had basically IP-banned me from home and work. Then they don't respond when you email them.

I wasn't banned though, I deleted my account (which I've done before).

No, I mean ask him what he thinks of the situation seeing as he should have a good perspective to view from.

"I am travelling for business for the next couple weeks, so I won't be in Boston that often. We can reconnect when I get back?"

Is this her polite way of tell me no? How do I follow up to maximize the chance of actually meeting up when she gets back? How do I make sure we both don't forget?

The only play is to basically say no problem let me know when you're back in town. If she doesn't contact you again when she says she will be back in town you can send one hail mary message.

Really no other way I can think of going about it.

Just shoot her a message on a few weeks, and hopefully she responds. I wouldn't think too much of it, it's not a great situation... but people are busy. Have you guys been out before?

I had a girl flat go out of town for a month after our second date, and we managed to get together a bunch more times before I moved.

Also, after searching this thread, I'm disappointed with the lack of tinder discussion. It seems like most people here are just looking to hook up, and tinder has by far the most hot chicks of any of the online sites. It also seems quite active.

Are people just using tinder as a hookup site, or can you use it more like a dating site?

We met at an event. I guess I missed my chance to just ask her out then, but we only talked for about 5 minutes and I was supposed to be helping other people out so it seemed inappropriate. I looked up her email address through the event page and contacted her that way.

no tinder on Android.

Though it seems OKC has a similar thing going with the "locals" tab?

Felt like such a player this weekend, going out with three 20-somethings in three days (I'm 35). Looks like OKCupid may have come through for me. Really hit it off with the 25-year-old on Saturday. She came over to my place and we walked to a nearby restaurant for brunch. Normally I wouldn't have someone come to my apartment or have a meal on first meeting, but she was coming 35 miles from Orange County to Los Angeles to see me. Plus the place is just a few blocks away and parking downtown is difficult. She's everything I'm looking for -- and remember my list was difficult like doesn't want kids/not religious. She has a Latina background but born in SoCal and doesn't even speak Spanish. Gives her a look that is at once exotic and girl next door. We felt very connected and comfortable with each other from the get go. She came back to my place and we hung around for a total of five hours on the day, though we didn't fool around. Already made plans for me to go out to her place next weekend. She texted me the moment she got home to say what a great time she had, and we've been texting constantly since. Never met someone before where I was so sure from the first date that we are bound for a relationship.
