I want to move back to my hometown in MA. It's on the NH border. I work in the casino industry, and there are currently no casinos nearby.

If I have to live elsewhere until they remedy that, Minnesota is just as good as any place else. It's actually pretty nice here, much nicer than I ever expected. And I've got a tremendous job here, not one I would casually walk away from to take a shot somewhere else.

(Everyone automatically suggests Connecticut, but that's a 3-hour drive away, which means I wouldn't be spending any time with my family on weekend afternoonss AND working weekend evenings--it's effectively just as "too far away" as anywhere else in the country. And from what I hear about the place, folks are still frustrated by the way they run their poker room, while quite the opposite is the case where I currently work...not to mention the problem of Connecticut's share of the gaming market shrinking instead of growing.)

Just got back from my second online date and things went very well. Already set things up to see each other Sunday afternoon.

The plan is to go mini putting, but the weather is calling for light rain, which kind of puts this up in the air. Any good ideas for a good back-up should the weather not work out?

Thanks.

What's the most flattering way to put on my profile that I'm a programmer? Web developer? I build cool websites?

Does anyone else here wish that they could combine the best aspects of 3 girls to form one supergirl?

I would just be general about it without specifically naming the job title. Say something like you have a job the allows you to be creative or that challenges you mentally on a daily basis.

Are you a programmer? Then write that.

Do you build cool websites? Then write that.

Why don't you just put your job and put other **** in there to show you're not the stereotype?

Why? Can't you just say what your job is? Are the women really going to care how you phrase that you have a real, steady job? Will anyone NOT roll their eyes when reading the bolded?

I would think girls would be intrigued about finding out what it is you do... Obviously at the point you would have to spin it as best you can, but when reading a profile I would think the above would be better at piquing their interest than Programer or Web Developer.

I think "programmer" will attract a lot of the girls looking for LTR/Marriage as mentioned it's a stable decent paying gig. But just put it in the profession column of your profile and don't mention anything about it in the about me. Highlight everything else.

This, well depending on the age range you're targeting I guess. PhD told me last night that there are a lot of "losers" on OKC so finding potential people to date is a challenge for her. By loser she meant 30-40 yo guys who indicate that they have no job or bad job and don't know what they want to do with their lives. That said, I wasn't clear if she meant that their station in life was a deal breaker or that they thought that disclosing said information in their profile would make them seem appealing made them unappealing.

I've considered doing this with someone already. Not the mini mic thing but sit close enough to myself and date to hear the conversation and observe behaviorism in an effort to provide me objective feedback. However if we could figure out a way to rig something so there would be no way to detect an earpiece, I'd do it just for the ****s and giggles.

I will pay for 1/10 of a gopro, assuming he actually wears it. i can't imagine we don't get full funding here. i remember henry saying in one thread you can get a hidden camera for less than that. maybe we get one of those pens that records video?

actually what'd be cool is if we each took turns using it so everyone could truly assign titles to us all

I'm pretty sure it's both.

I'm in for a 1/10th too. I have no idea how much money that is, but count me in!

So I had my first successful response from a second message. I messaged this woman a couple months ago. She never responded, but every couple weeks she would view my profile. I'm out of town the second and third weeks of June so I wasn't planning on messaging any women for the next month or so. This woman seems interesting and she happens to live in Middle of Nowhere, Deep South, so I said **** it and messaged her again (two months after the first one).

When I first started online dating I tried to send second messages twice and got no response. I told myself not to waste my time again, but for some reason, I thought this one had a chance. It would be nice to be able to go out with someone and only have a 5-minute drive instead of an hour.

Edit:

Here's the second message I sent. Nothing creative. I figured if she wanted to talk but was feeling weird b/c it had been so long without a response, it would give her a chance to engage.

"S***! We’re both intellectual/artistic types living in XXX. I think we should talk!

How did a freelance writer end up in XXX anyway?

Dalerobk2"

Dave & Buster's. Or if you want something cheaper, indoor batting cages followed with burgers, dogs, and Ice Cream.

Can you cook/bake? If so, have her come over to your place and cook something together. Great activity, especially on a rainy day when no one wants to be outside.

Careful though, I was scolded by a woman for having her come to my place for a second date. Make sure she's not hung up on dating conventions before you propose something of the sort.
