This.

I had a hot run where I was 8/9 but then since then I whiffed in 6 straight. I think 25% is pretty sustainable, i am at about 35% but my regression has not hit fully yet.

A lot of it is in timing, if the girl just met someone they will be less inclined to respond.

I hate responses like this. No question to forward the convo other than returning to a subject I included specifically as a double entendre (she's originally from Detroit)...

Her:
Hi cute boy

Me:
Hey there! This might be really, really presumptuous of me but.. there's no way I'm dressing up like a clown on our first date like those other guys did . So what do you think, will Detroit get a chance to meet Chicago? Oh, I'm ____.

Her:
Hey! Yeah clowns can be pretty creepy! They stopped by our tailgate after the Thanksgiving day parade before the Lions game So hockey?? I hope they meet Chicago. Since the game is on at 10 tonight (I'm in mi till tomorrow) I'm not sure I will be awake!

Me:
Ohhhh it was a Lions tailgate and not some of your online dates. Hockey?? As a Sox fan, it's not like I'm going to just hand you the ammunition to blow me away, that's for sure. But no, not hockey or baseball; you and me... let's save the smack talk for later...

Her:
Go wings!!! I can't believe they won! Hope you have a good day

Hero?
Does she live in Detroit? If she lives in the Chicago area invite her out for a drink. "Let's get together for a drink Thursday after work. [insert place and time] Does that work for you?"

Alternatively, you could ask her what she thinks of John Waynce Gacy.

I still dont like the presumptuous speech. I think you had a good idea for a joke but your delivery turned an A+ opener idea into a C because of execution. I seriously would advise you to reread everything you type and think about how confident it sounds before you hit send.

That being said, I think this girl digs you and your next line should be to ask her to a bar for drinka to watch an upcoming game or something similar...

Also, I dont understand what you were talking about in your response and i dont think she did either, which is why her message was a nonsequiter. She did respond, which means she wants to keep you talking to her. She wants you to ask her out, so do it! Then post the tr for us

atf,
sounds like she got bored of the sports talk.

garcia-i def wouldn't call myself a pua but i've obviously studied a lot about the effect of evolutionary biology on dating.

Hero?
She shouldn't need to "forward the conversation" at this point...she's made it clear that she likes you, so just ask her out.

So standard line if girl can't go out either of two suggested days is to do nothing until she re-initiates? I texted her, and she said work and going out of town for the weekend if that makes any difference.

Wait a few days, perhaps best waiting until she returns from the out of town trip. Maybe next Monday regarding a Thursday date. Leaves her a day or so to respond and you some time to think of something to do.

I've always hated the waiting until she re-initiates contact thing. We're in our 20-30s, living busy lives. I know I've needed to be jolted into meeting a girl, you get bogged down with other activities and people fall by the wayside. It sounds like she has a ton of things going on as well. Taking the initiative yourself wastes no energy of your own, unless you're majorly invested in her response.

Yeah def wait until her trip is done. Then ask "how was the trip" or whatever then ask her out again. If she declines again id say its a lost cause.

Done. I sent this around noon:

Quote:
That was a big upset! Enjoy it, because it's pretty much over for the Wings now My day is going great and my week might get even better... let's get together for a drink Thursday around 8ish. I'm in the Northern burbs so we can sort out a location. Does that work for you?
Her initial response was around 9:30 AM, so first thing in the morning. Nothing yet.

Also on POF, with a 7/8 who visited my profile, I have this going:

Quote:
Me: No way you're 40...

Her: But it's true... =)
WTF?

This. Plus, I would never say something like that. It's basically like saying, "Wow, I can't believe you really are old!" Telling a woman, basically, that she's looks great for her age is pretty much never a good idea. And by pretty much I mean never.

Yeah, I guess. It's the limitations of text but I was legitimately shocked, she looks late-20s / early-30s. What's the standard play on extremely good looking women; complement them on their appearance like 90% of the chumps or avoid it completely? I've been doing the latter.

Also I shot a text to 99%er today, saying I thought bouncing to the smaller place was a good call, that I had a good time, and referred to something we made a bet over. No response. Given her previous trends in responsiveness I take it she's not interested.

It's beginning to make me rethink waiting 2-3 days before sending a follow-up text. With Biter I hit her with a text the next day and secured a 2nd date even though our 1st was pretty ****ing weird. With the last two - which I thought went much better - I waited 3 days and one, and now maybe both, lost interest.

Wait people actually recommend "wait 3 days before you contact her again" still?

Yeah, this is something I was curious about too. I tend to play it by ear, but I basically never wait three days if I'm interested at all. Maybe two, usually one or even the next day if I think it's right. I've also found that they often text me before I text them.
