So I just got an iPad Air 2 a few days ago as a gift. Awesome, but I was holding off on opening it until after the event today.

Based on what they announced today, it looks like the iPad Air 2 is not going to be upgraded this year (just the Mini and the Pro), and so I can go ahead an open it up without worrying about an upgraded model coming out in a month. Do you guys think that's accurate?

Right now you can say "hey Siri" without pushing button only if plugged into power source

Now you can do it on battery power as well

Apple stock always goes down around their events (great time to buy!) and then back up as the products inevitably sell out

Eddy Cue went on to the next slide too soon, disrupting the flow of the presentation. The stock will continue to fall until he's fired.

The improved camera is really the only reason to upgrade if that's big to you. Otherwise wait if you currently have a 6 or 6 Plus. For someone with a 5S or earlier, it's a no brainer.

P.S. Unless you still like a 4 inch or smaller form factor which many people do.

If the A9 really has a 70% faster cpu and 90% faster gpu, that could be a pretty big upgrade. It will be interesting to see what the actual difference is in practice.

The 3D touch and taptic engine is a pretty nice addition as well and will enable some cool stuff once developers incorporate them

I've got 5S and I planned to upgrade, but I don't know now...

This jump from 16GB to 64GB pisses me off. I need 32GB, actually even that is a little bit overkill for me, but with 16GB I might have to uninstall some old apps sometimes or put photos to PC too often. So it's going to feel ******ed to own 64GB when I never go above 20-25GB.

Also isn't resolution on 6S a little bit low? Many others are going above FullHD already, 6S is 1334x750. Maybe it doesn't have any effect and it's actually good for battery life, I don't know, but seems unreasonable that others are making resolutions better than FullHD just to brag with higher numbers and lose battery life in process.

Bigger screen I don't care that much since i'm iPad user, although I broke my current one and if 6S Plus is big enough, ditching iPad completely and using 6S Plus to replace iPad activities might be good idea and actually save some $$$, but I have doubts about 5.5" being as enjoyable as 9.7" iPad.

Only thing that actually sucks about not upgrading is not having as good quality photos as possible to look at when i'm 70 because I only use iPhone for taking photos... But 5S photo quality is pretty damn good still imo.

I didn't think they still offered that deal anymore? Now you just purchase the phones outright on a payment plan. Get the iPhone 6s for about $27/month I think. But the knock off X amount from your data plan to compensate. Basically your bill will go up in the neighborhood of $5-12 a month rather than paying the $200 for the phone and renewing your contract. Seems reasonable to me. I'm preordering 6s plus today. Upgrading from a 5.

Verizon will grandfather you in if you currently have a contract. That was one of my options when I preordered the other day. I either pay 299 or 399 for the phone, renew the 2 yr contract and pay 40 for the line or do the payment plan for 31 a month and 20 per line. There is no contract for the latter but if you decide to leave you need to pay full price for the phone

Good to know as I'm in the same boat. Which way did you go? I'm assuming you took the payment plan...

64 GB 6 plus is 399 plus 40 per line with 2 yr contract or 36 per month, 20 per line and no contract. I went with the payment plan. It's a slight favorite if you do the math and if you don't upgrade when this phone is paid off you still only pay 20 per line. I also went from 8gb to 12gb for data.

Consider a leasing option too, even if you plan on keeping the device.

For example, with T-Mobile's promotion, you can get a 6s 16 GB for only $524 (vs the $650 retail price). $20/month for 18 months on the lease, and then either turn the phone back in, or pay $164 and keep it. Similar savings for the 6s+ and for other memory capacities.

Anyone ever have issues with picture quality on the 6 or 6 Plus?

I've noticed that pictures I take and then upload to Facebook look kind of pixelated on FB even if they are clear for me on the phone. I'm guessing this is due to it being a bigger size but I don't remember this being an issue previously.

Is it possible I'm doing something wrong, or do iPhone pictures just not translate to FB well?

Settings -> iCloud -> Photos has an option buried somewhere to keep the good resolution only in the cloud and store a crappy resolution copy locally on your phone which sounds like it could cause this behavior.

Upgraded from iPad Mini 1 16 GB Wifi to iPad Mini 4 64 GB LTE. The lack of Wifi always killed me at the pool and when travelling and now I will actually be able to store some apps/music/videos.

I have a badly cracked screen on a 6+
I have an upgrade
Should I get a 6+ S ?

Figure I gotta pay to get screen fixed so I can sell the 6+ regular regardless

Also does anybody know if you can use an upgrade to get an iPad pro at a cheaper price using your family plan even if you just want a wifi only
