My ipad 3* as well. A lot of bugs must have been squashed.

*Oops, that's "new ipad" there is no ipad 3.

iOS 7.1 Makes the iPhone 4 Snappier

Supposedly makes the performance closer to iOS 6.3

Wrt the smashed screen- I would just take it to Apple and get a replacement iPhone for whatever it is they charge in the US (~$220 maybe), if your local guy is charging $170.
$170 is a lot for this repair, for example I do it for $129 and that's still a fair margin for ten minutes of work. Ifixit.com if you want to see the process

Hey guys, I have a question regarding a verizon iphone 4. Is there anyway to use this in Ecuador? It's the one without a simcard slot. As far as I can tell from googling it won't work, but I figured I'd ask you guys to be sure.

As part of April Fools festivities, the iphone repair company iFixIt has announced that they are being acquired by Apple Computer. LOL

Need a cracked screen repaired? Time to upgrade! Have a bubble under your screen protector? Time to upgrade!

The website is still active:

Upgraded from 4s to 5s today and it seems a helllava lot quicker and I'm loving the Touch ID. I can't help but thinking that it can easily be bypassed though. Is the password method a lot more secure?

Supposedly, 7.1.1 does wonders for iPhone 5S battery life.

I triggered some setting in my 5 a couple weeks back while on vacation and now the battery life is LOLbad. I went from getting a full day no problem to needing to recharge at noon. I assumed it was authorizing location services for maps or something but I think I have that switched off in the background for pretty much everything and killing the apps doesn't seem to do the trick either.

Not a crisis, just bought another cord so I can charge at work, but annoying. Might end up doing a partial reset.

I just hope the 5.5" doesn't have any additional features. I would be tempted to wait if it had anything else beyond a bigger screen.

I have had a 5S since December and have felt that the battery life is great. It can go all day without needing a charge. If it's unplugged from 8am to 8pm is will be somewhere around the 30-40% range. That's with a decent amount of use.

Yesterday after reading this post I updated to 7.1.1. I had the phone fully charged at 6pm and didn't use it very much until this morning. Now it's almost 10am and I'm at 71% (updated ~10 apps this morning and currently streaming a radio feed).

Overall my experience with the 5S battery life is A+

Bring back full screen caller ID! What a terrible, ugly change.

It may have worked for the 5s but the battery for the 5 is draining like crazy after this update. There are 3 iphone 5's in my household and all 3 are much worse after this recent update. Anyone else having problems?

I figured LTE would always be a much faster battery drain after upgrading from the 4S, but I almost never need to recharge it during the day, even with Twitter/2P2 during the morning commute, fairly regular messaging and streaming podcasts and music in the evening at the gym. Couldn't ask for anything better.

These new ads that open up the App Store are really pissing me off.

Just instantly changes to it.

The vibrabe on my phone has stopped working. It doesn't vibrate on calls, texts, or other notifications regardless of what the settings are. I'm taking it in to an Apple store today. Hopefully they can just swap it out.

The motor had stopped working. It failed their hardware diagnostic test when they took it to the back of the store. It was under warranty so they replaced it for free ($29 otherwise). Phone works great now. Overall that was a good experience. Much better than the volume button fiasco when I took the phone in 30 days after the warranty.

Finally did the upgrade today. 4S 16GB to 5S 32 GB. I feel like a moron not doing it sooner.

I was with Verizon paying $114 a month (which is due). Walked by a T-Mobile and saw the sign about switching, so I went in and checked it out. By the time I left, I had a new phone, better service (3G to 4G), lower monthly payments, and payed less out the door then my Verizon bill this would've been.

I say I did okay!!!!

I was THIS close to getting the iPad as well, but I didn't. Might as well wait until the iPad Pro comes out, if that rumor is in fact true.
