Im pretty positive hes mentally ill, throw that in with having the disease of being a gambling addict and likely an alcoholic and it seems unlikely hes ever going to willingly get help. I really actually had hope for him for a little bit, sounded like he really might get the help he desperately needs. But his brain fogged back over and now hes the same old tbag and hes back to being an insufferable ****.

Babs, no secret that I don't like you, but I really wouldn't want you to harm yourself physically in any way. Hope you weren't too serious when you said those things to Alobar. If your family is willing to help you with the financial aspect of rehab, then FFS take them up on it. Taking steps to both help your problem and repair your relationship with your folks would be two significant wins in one.

mat, pride is part of it. Babs can never admit he was wrong about anything. Maybe for the 1/2 hour every third day he'd wish we could all get along, but then he'd go back to doubling down on whatever he was wrong about, whether it was about his life or basic probability. It's hard to change when you always have to be right.

Pretty sad turn of events, but obviously an outcome that wasn't too surprising. Beast, your family has had your back and enabled you for your entire existence, do them a solid and get the help you need and I'm sure they've offered.

No, it can't and it won't, because people legitimately spent hours and days and have written really thoughtful and intelligent helpful posts and he ignores them all.

And let's be honest, as soon as he starts another homophobic animal rhyming tirade he's going to get trolled.

I knew (at least in general) that he told Alobar he was suicidal and I'll echo every one else that I would hope, tbab, if you read this, that you'll at the very least call 911 or a suicide prevention hotline if you really need it, and that you should swallow your pride and ask your family for at least the support to get into some type of inpatient (dead serious, he needs inpatient therapy) treatment for a host of issues, including but not limited to substance abuse/addiction, personality disorder, and mood disorder.

But he's been told this, or some variation of this, hundreds of times already. He knows where to find all that advice (in the locked but still there thread) and in those rare moments he's lucid, he even knows all that advice is correct and that his life would be infinitely better if he followed it. Only he can ever make the decision to do that, though. Him posting on here or not is irrelevant as far as that goes, and while I guess it provides some sort of weird social contact and a pressure release for him, I think the negatives to him posting outweigh whatever small benefit he might get.

Since his definition of trolling includes things like "stop betting on sports, you're bad at it," I don't think so.

He just wants nonstop sunshine blown up his ass, and obviously nobody should agree to do that, nor would it be helpful to him.

Meh… I was on team tbab for quite a while and was really hoping he would pull his **** together one day after he finished ****ing around. Pretty much apparent that he can't take care of this situation on his own though so I truly hope he does accept some help and life gets better for him in the long run. I could obviously insert a wagering joke here but will resist the urge to do so.
