the last 5 times I have tried a BK it has been just gross. Not fresh, not good. got sick twice.

those 5 times were spaced out over about 2 years.

never again. with Wendy's or McD's I see no reason to ever go to BK again.

Virgin Chik-fil-a TR

Landed in Ft. Lauderdale and driving up to Daytona in the black Dodge Charger(!) rental with the wife and kids and its time to pop the CFA cherry.

The one we find is at a food court in a FL mall, but I am not worried because I've read this thread. Boys are exited, wife is meh and we go 3 spicy chicken and whatever wife got I legit forget. Waffle fries, sodas.

19-21 y.o. male greets me and is super friendly, but genuine. As I start to order I say this is our first CFA order and order. 3 minutes in guy comes over and says "27, i just want you to know that your order is going to be like 4 more minutes. we want your first CFA experience to be special(they really said that)". i'm a little taken aback, but not shocked.

3 minutes later he comes back and says "27, i'm so sorry your order will be up in 1 minute i truly apologize for this long wait". i let him know it is not a problem whatsoever.

he delivers, apologizing profusely. got CFA sauce and BBQ. sandwiches insane. GCDS had an entire spicy chicken. fries were meh(sorry el d).

On the way out we get 12 piece nuggets for road, didn't make it out of parking lot.

9.5/10 (fries)

27,

So much fail.

1) regular sandwich so superior to spicy

2) LEMONADE not soda

3) should have gotten some Polynesian and honey bbq in addition to CFA sauce

Those fries are not everyone's bag, totally reasonable not to be that into them.

My favorite is the Spicy Deluxe. I get the side salad instead of fries. The Sesame or Spicy dressings are great.

There's better Lemonade compared to CFA's at many places. e.g. the Cherry Lemonade found at any Freestyle machine.

But again, everyone's tastes are different.

Since hyperbole seems to be okay in this thread, I have to ask if you really got sick 2 out of 5 times from BK?

That sounds obscene and it would be closed down if that percentage were anywhere near that. I know very few people that got sick from fast food, since serving food that won't get people sick is probably the thing they care about most.

hogwash, the only fail at cfa looks like a grilled chicken. had no nugs for dipping, so kept it simple and i dipped my sandwich in the cfa and jr used bbq for fries.
we had have an extra of each for the nuggets to go, so there is probably some fail in not getting a couple more sauces for the road. i'll give you that

I need to try CFA again. I only went there once on a roadtrip, and I was way too taken aback by the customer service to have a good memory of the food.

definitely lemonade..i know i've written this before, but my current go to w cfa is the spicy..but only bcus i've had the #1 a billion times(still love it). as a first time try i would def. recommend the #1. come on. i guess you could also get a reg and a spicy and skip the fries, but for a first time i think you should try the fries--it's not like they're horrible or anything.

best worker people at any fast foody places imo are definitely--cfa, in n out and 5 guys.

-always ask for some sauces. even if you don't need them.

Ordering the spicy chicken isn't really a fail. I order it occasionally even though I generally prefer the regular. Chick-Fil-A sauce is the #1 sauce by a lot though.

Does anyone ever get the diet lemonade? I like it just as much as the regular.

This is why fast food places that only have Company owned stores are generally run way better than franchises. Similar experience can be found at In-N-Out.

I wonder if CFAs 6 day a week strategy (religious reason aside) means workers aren't burned out and provide better service. Almost all family run food joints are closed on Mondays in NJ possibly for same reasons.

27,

You know you didn't have to go all the way to Florida to find a mall food court chick-fil-a, right?

I know there is one at Burlington Mall too. Its still there right?
I think that is just outside of my FF travel range, even CFA.

I could seriously also see M*******s totally ****ing up the "always nice" CFA program too. Any experience?

This can't be right - isn't it Minute Made? CFA lemonade is outstanding, a little artificial cherry syrup (as delicious as it is) can't push MM ahead?

Sample size obv but I got very sick the second-to-last time I ate BK (like 4 years ago) - ordered the Xtra Thick whoppers they were hawking at the time from the drive thru, noticed it tasted really luke warm and awful on the first bite, ate it anyway, spent the night hurling.

That said a couple of months ago I hit BK in the late afternoon looking for a snack and grabbed a double cheeseburger and it was very good - very hot, just ketchup, mustard, pickles, two patties two cheese - was very pleased for $1.50 or $1.80 or whatver.

Mark,

"There's better Lemonade compared to CFA's at many places. e.g. the Cherry Lemonade found at any Freestyle machine."

LOL, gtfo. Mainly that just means you don't like real lemonade, which is fine I guess.

CFA: Water, freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar

Minute Maid: PURE FILTERED WATER, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, LEMON JUICE FROM CONCENTRATE, LEMON PULP, NATURAL FLAVORS, SUGAR (plus some sort of cherry flavoring/syrup)

Yeah, I've been to the one in the Burlington mall a bunch. The service is always over the top nice and excellent.

easiest way to avoid the regular/spicy dilemma at CFA is to get one of each!

Last edited by Bode-ist; 05-02-2014 at 03:18 PM. Reason: and plenty of CFA sauce for both

It seems I made a horrible drink decision, no two ways around it. That's what I get for not reviewing the thread. I had a lot going on, but its my own fault.
