2x that, plus another $1.50 for the green tea.

so a $20 meal
almost looks like you could split it with someone, or is that camera distortion

Not a lot of value, I guess, but quite a bit of food. With some kind of appetizer, I'm sure my wife and I could split it and call it a good meal. Today, I ate all the chicken, the soup, most of the rice and about 1/2 of the coleslaw, as a late lunch after several hours of work in our datacenter.

I spent some time in Osaka for work 20+ years ago. This most closely matches the katsu from the Kintetsu dept store 5th floor katsu place that we ate at frequently for lunch. Still love it.

Went big at Taco Bell, grabbing 4 items off their new $3 or less menu + one Cheesy Chicken Crispanada.

Cheesy Chicken Crispanada (Pictured, $3.89) - agree with review a week ago, pretty tasty, but laughable value at $3.89. Can't imagine ever ordering again.
Loaded Beef Nachos (Pictured, $2.99) - I was quite surprised by how big these were, I was expecting somewhere between 50%-66% the volume. Overall I was impressed they included sour cream + guac + meat for the quantity they gave at $3 price point. I liked the enchilada-ish red sauce they put on them too. Very solid nachos side dish option here.
Beef Stacker (Not pictured, $2.49) - This is a tough one for me. It's basically a quesadilla, although I'm guessing a smaller tortilla than their regular quesadilla. Given I think the chicken or steak quesadilla is priced at $6.79 IIRC, this at least relatively has decent value. But, it just doesn't taste as good as the premium version. I see myself buying the stacker regularly, but being sad about it each time.
Chicken Flatbread Melt (Not pictured, $2.79) - This was downright decent, chicken + cheese + chipotle sauce on a substantial piece of flatbread. It was pretty doughy/soft, but enjoyed it well enough.
Chicken Enchilada Burrito (Not pictured, $2.99) - Again portion size was bigger than I expected. Flavor was just OK though, lots of their rice which is just ok.

Overall I''m relatively impressed with the portion sizes from this menu, and non-fat-asses can probably get a solid meal with 2 items from here. I'd always order 3, and sadly, a couple years of fast food inflation has me believing that a $9 meal from taco bell is decent value (when I can still hear a past version of myself screaming through the ether that it should be < $6).

This $2 Dave's Double is the best deal in the business. If I didn't meal prep today I'd be OMW for another.

I just ate my Wendy's $2 double too.

Jawhoo, great write-up and I agree with your comments on the nachos. Yumm.

I can't remember the last time I spent less than 14 bucks at The Bell.

You could get two Cravings Boxes for $14 or less.

But yeah, TB’s value has sucked for awhile now.

I also finally picked up my $2 daves double yesterday.

I went to TB twice to check out all the new value menu items. The two burritos are the only offerings I'd order again. Get a couple of those and the $1.49 bean and cheese burritos and you can get a pretty hefty meal for pretty cheap.

That Cap's cheesesteak looks nice. I've got $30 banked in the app that I will be spending on one of those this week.

Only if you were buying the regular menu without a deal. There were multiple elite value plays - the $2 chipotle chicken ranch and $2 beefy crunch burritos were excellent. On the breakfast side the toasted burritos. And then there was $1 happy hour for drinks.

Definitely less value now outside the new deluxe nachos.

There's a $3 Cheesy double beef burrito that my local TB makes huge servings of. Legit size of the grilled stuffed burrito. I could never finish 2 back to back, but the bell is the place for optimum value in 2024 sans apps.

I just might get a $2 Daves Double, extra cheese between patties out of respect for value in about 45 mins or so.

be ahead of the bell curve with value menu and soft taco combos
ditch the itch for sparkle drink and instead fill your belly for less than ten

There really is no better donut than a fresh warm Krispy Kreme. There used to be a a Krispy Kreme store about 4 minutes from me, but thankfully it closed and probably saved me from diabetes.
