Definitely. One nuance is WA is one of the few states that don't allow employers to pay under minimum wage for tipped employees, so if Dominos employs its delivery team then they're making base $16 in Seattle, and $13.25 minimum in WA. (I also saw a sign at my local burger chain the other night that starting pay was $20/hr, going up to $25, so fast food wages may be higher than min wage.) So, in WA the driver isn't make $2/hour watching their tips dry up. But, they're still making a lot less than they would have made, and if it happened all at once I wouldn't be surprised at all if their average hourly total got cut in half.

The basic Whataburger #1 meal is over 8 bucks now wtf. Didn't ff used to be cheap as well as fast? Why get ff if I can still get a good meal at a real restaurant for 9 or 10, at least for lunch. And honestly, these understaffed ff places are getting slower all the time. Workers more hopelessly inept as well.

My local halal place has a great $10 chicken over rice (or lamb over rice). It has quickly replaced my ff meals, which I was cutting out anyways. The only things lately I've been using are free 2 lg fries (that's a lot of fries) with 20pc, and 2 for 3.50 mcdoubles. And whatever popeyes coupons may be good.

Inflation has definitely hit FF prices a lot less than other restaurants. Twice recently I've gone in to get take out and had to go back to my car to grab more cash and I always bring in more than I think I'll need. Carne asada nachos that were 10 and change not long ago are now $15. Paying $5.39 instead of $5.19 for a QPC or big mac is a lot more palatable than that.


Since punkass mentioned halal food, I just went to Halal Guys recently and their combo platter that was 11.99 the last time I was there maybe 2 years ago was over $15 as well. It was $9.99 or maybe even $8.99 when it opened in 2016.

We have an amazing Mexican joint in town, but unfortunately the prices have been increasing constantly. Feels like every time we go, they have newly printed menus with higher prices.

It’s seriously good Mexican food, but it’s getting harder to justify. Last visit, appetizer guacamole was north of $12.
