I finally got the Popeyes sandwich, traveling to visit family! It lived up to the hype, best fast food meal I've had in ages. Three points:

1) I mostly agree with everyone itt, the chicken is great, the buns are great, the spicy sauce is great (and built up a nice spicy heat throughout the sandwich)
2) One area of disagreement for me compared to thread opinion: I liked the plain/regular as much as the spicy. I thought in particular the pickles played better with the mayo, vs. getting a little lost on the spicy version. The correct play is obviously to get one of each, imo.
3) I don't think I've seen it mentioned itt before, but the bourbon fudge pie was SO GOOD. I think it supplanted the caramel apple empanada as the best fast food non-ice-cream dessert. Super fudgy, and the flavor had just a hint of bourbon taste that made it a little more complex then the standard hershey's syrup chocolate of most fast food desserts. I implore you to add one on to your next Popeye's trip.

Anyone who is against 5 guys is a true hero, as that person saves our tastebuds, waistlines, and wallets from greasy, expensive trash.

I have tried the popeyes sandwich both ways and my fav is just no sauce whatsoever just pickles.

Im instinctually turned off by "fudge", as I don't care for heavily chocolatey things in general, but I will get one off this recommendation.

I really can't recall exactly what a 5 guys burger is like. I kind of want one just to see. Ive been maybe 5 times ever and I think its been close to 5 years since I last went. I know I won't need to get any fries, I really dislike them.

Five guys is like dipping a loaf of bread in water, then eating as quickly as possible with hands tied behind back. Their toppings are incredible though.

I don't recall if they have "doubles" or "bigs". As opposed to littles.

I can't get fully on-board the anti-5G train because I didn't think the burgers were bad, but after thinking more about it, the last few times* I went to 5G I got hot dogs.

*It has been more than a year or two since I darkened the door of a 5G.

The thing about 5 guys that was so disappointing is that they have all these toppings and bacon and everything, and yet still it just tastes like greasy, expensive garbage. Fries are great, but I don’t see myself ever going back there.

If you’re getting hot dogs at a place known for their burgers, that says everything about their burgers.

I can't even eat real fudge, this has nothing whatsoever to make it seem/taste like real fudge.
