I don't understand all this talk of avocado. It's literally tasteless. It tastes like nothing at all. It's like tofu - it needs garnishes and stuff to taste like anything. Is it the same as those sad sacks who taste soap when they have cilantro? Like I feel for those who are allergic to flavor. Poor things. Very grateful to not be burdened by that affliction.

Avocado is amazing. Chicken with avocado and bacon is one of the most simple and delicious combinations.

Cilantro does taste like soap tho.

Did a little late-night snacky snack last night with red wine vinegar on the left and my usual habanero on right:

While the vinegar one was ok, it completely changed the avocado experience into a vinegar-avocado thing I'm not sure I subscribe to. The habanero one on the right is still where it's at for me, which is avocado with a KICK.

Lol avocado-hating slappys.

Avocado needs salt more than almost any food in the world. Acid helps also. With salt and acid, it's great (guac). With just salt, it's good. With no salt or acid, Dom has a point.

LOL at worrying about the calorie count for avocados in a thread full of Baconators.

I don't dislike avocado but it isn't amazing either. Way overhyped. Cilantro on the other hand is flat out terrible. I don't think it tastes like soap but it's still inedible.

Will be in the area of the Sunset/Decatur Popeyes for the 4th time in the past two weeks shortly and will finally get to stop in. The time I drove by last week the drive thru wasn't backed up so I'm hoping that's the case again today.

Avocados are elite, go **** yaself. The only bad thing about avocados is that everyone likes them now so prices are high.

What are you trying to accomplish here, Dom?

I don't like cantaloupe, but I make a point to try it every couple years. I think it smells amazing, but tastes super weird. I don't disparage anyone that likes it, and I'm always open to widening my palate. I'm sure that all of us enjoy certain foods now that we once disdained as children.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if you have one of those taste issues as hobbes suggested.
