Fat cheese on the char with onion rings and shake is the best fast food meal you can have. Too bad FB is totally mismanaged. Their onion rings are the best anywhere.

maybe?

I dunno, I havent had a whopper Jr. in awhile but that seems like a lot with the 2 orders of fries.

Sor some reason 1 fry and 1 ring would have been fine to me

This is how I see it as well, plus if you do fast food often enough the amount you save will add up. It's the whole coffee at home versus Starbucks each day. It's easy to see the $4 as no big deal, but over the course of a year or even a month it costs quite a bit.

Tried the "new" BK fries the other day... the same lousy fries only cut thicker. They really need to get better fries because their burgers are really good. I am not sure how BK manages to make french fries so tasteless.

When a star high school athlete makes as important a decision as which college to attend, of course he has to tilt the scales to the school that actually has a Chick-Fil-A on campus. Hilarious video:

Best part of that. (dunno if it was mentioned in video) There in fact is one on campus, he just didn't see it.

Panda/Panera near me. How bad is it that i never even consider going into panera but have probably been to the panda location 10-15 times since it opened? They are about 20 feet apart.

Yeah, that's awful.

I had the McBite things or whatever they are called. Reminded me of popcorn chicken from KFC. More bread than chicken. They weren't awful and probably better than the Mcnuggets (which I haven't had in years). So for McDs, I'd give them 3 out of 4 stars (again, on the McScale, not compared to other food)

Sounds optimal. You can eat your orange chicken and still mooch the free wifi from Panera.

Tried some McBites this week.

First few bites i was thinking they were pretty good.

By the time I was half way through I was done and decided I will never have them again.

I finally had them too and agree with the general consensus of suckiness. The batter tastes like what they use for the wholly lousy Chicken Selects, or pretty darn close. And the ratio of pieces with actual meat versus ones that are just fried batter is pretty bad - worse that I expected and that's saying something considering I was pretty pessimistic going in. Big fail McDs.

They are for sure the same breading as the selects. I guess why I thought they were ok is I'm pretty sketched out when it comes to chicken there anyways, so I figured more bread, less chicken = better.

not trying to sound baller or anythin, cause im definitely not and will skip lunch a couple times to save $$. just when i actually go to eat, the extra $2 on the overall meal will rarely factor into what im getting (unless its dollar menu time)

speaking of which, time to skip lunch for a month to save a cool two hundo
Mostly for fun. Usually when I break the $3 I'm just going for the best thing, but I find it tough to get the 2.29 burritos at bell when the $1 burrito is comparable, and tough to get the 3-4 burgers when you can get a mcquadruple for $2.

Actually there are 3 categories in my mind being the ultra cheap, the under $7 and under $1 per 100 calorie(chick fil a), and the expensive( some sweet sub, chipotle w guac, papa johns, sushi). I'll usually eat in the category that feels right for how busto or flush I am at the time

panera top secret info:

if you try to URL the actual 2+2 homepage it will block it, but going straight to forumserver.twoplustwo.com should work.

i've never had a problem at any panera i've ever been to, but wendy's wifi (at least used to) block 2p2 (and I always go to forumserver).

nbats-

Acceptable. To me, sandwiches are a thing I make at home and Fake Chinese is not.

Yeah, I may try tony's idea sometime and get that bread but overall I think i'd prefer to just get bread from a real bakery and make my own sandwiches.

Fake chinese is definitely really hard to do right and i don't want to end up with orange chicken sauce all over my kitchen.

Yeah- even those frozen skillet meals, which are usually pretty decent, totally suck for Chinese. Without wok heat, it's just not going to be right.
