I watched Bojack Horseman recently and really liked it.

The Entourage comparison isn't precisely right. Though, the same thought occurred to me while watching the series.

Entourage = Rising film star
Bojack Horseman = Washed-up TV star

Entourage was fun to watch because you were going along for the ride with Vincent Chase and his crew. Bojack's ride isn't that kind of fun.

I agree, this is why I went with the Johnny Drama comparison (in a life without Vince)

just got done with the FIRST SEASON of american horror story

I thought it was going to be an overrated show. I was pleasantly surprised that the story was better than I thought, even though its not nearly half as scary as people make it out to be

will start season 2. I heard 2 has even more horror but the story isn't half as good as the first season.

guess i ll see

Thanks for the rec. Good show.

The update of Carrie with Julianne Moore is very good so far (about 30 minutes in) and stays very true to the source material so far.

Watched Hostages with Toni Collette and Dylan McDermott. TV show about a Dr whose family is taken hostage the night before she is scheduled to operate on the President.

It was pretty good overall. Granted there were a few moments where you had to overlook some idiotic writing like putting GPS chips on the kids but not the Dr's car, but I liked it a lot more than Blacklist which seems like a list of every cliche plot device used in spy movies/shows over the past few years

Huh? That show was shockingly ******ed. Read the AVClub reviews. It was the only reason I continued to watch it. Freaking brilliant. Poor Sonia started losing her mind and her reviews only got better as she got more unraveled.

Death Note was really really good, I keep thinking about it. it's like a 7 hour thriller with twists and action, almost like a great heist movie. and it's got a firm ending, not many tv shows especially action shows give you a real ending but this one does, it's a full story and I loved it.

death note 5/5

With the tone and thought that went into that show, I was really disappointed with all the "girl likes a guy anime stuff" they did with Misa (sp). If they toned that down (yes, plot needs it, whatever) and made her less annoying, I think Death Note would be much more accessible to non-anime fans.

But seriously, if you're not hooked by episode two, you're not going to like it.

Speaking of anime, I noticed they added some Ghost in the Shell stuff..."Arise". The first two Episodes of a 4 part series that Funimation is apparently using to reboot it, or at least tell the tale of how Section 9 got started? I watched the first one and enjoyed it more than I think most hardcore Ghost in the Shell fans would enjoy it. Worth seeking out the whole set?

Regarding anime

I've watched and loved both Death Note and Code Geass.

What else would I love?

I was this way until a week ago. Completely stopped watching for a half month cuz I just didn't like it. Then put it on one night out of sheer boredom and was surprised how it got a lot better after a few more episodes. Some really good dark humor and departure from the whole "a-hole guy focused only on himself" that the show starts with.

Odds were good I'd never finished watching this show, but I'm kinda glad I picked it back up.

Tried watching Bo jack horsemans pilot. It's not a bad show. It's just not really original. It reminds me a lot of family guy with the flashbacks. Archer is a lot better in my opinion, just to compare.
