Enjoyed Our Idiot Brother. Wasn't the stupid stoner comedy I felt like it was marketed as, and had some genuine heart to it.

There is a classics genre on the netflix webpage. Also, iirc Amazon prime also had a nice selection of classic movies including more titles from the 60's and 70's. Although, is not as well indexed as netflix fwiw.

I remember seeing this in theaters and liking it a lot more than I thought. Silly but some great laughs

Also I watched hecklers, a doc about heckling. It starts off great, some really funny stuff from comedians about hecklers and stories. Then about halfway through it just turns into a movie about critics and how no one likes Jaime Kennedy.

Watched drinking buddies last night. Kinda liked the idea of having the dialogue unscripted, made it feel more natural like a normal conversation. But the flip side of that I felt the overall story was a bit weak, which I mainly attribute to that fact as well. So it was an average film, but a tough one for me to get through since I am doing no drinking for the month of January until I go to Vegas for the weekend for the Super Bowl, so this movie really got me itching for some craft beer.

And if it isn't obvious enough I'm having beer/drinking withdrawal, my next movie I watched was 21 & Over. Definitely had some laugh out loud moments. Standard college comedy that are fun from time to time.

Yeah, it's really good. Reminds me a bit of Louie in terms of tone. Really like Marc's assistant Kyle. Think he said on wtf that they're filming season 2 right now.

Just watched 'The Road' (with Viggo Mortensen)

Pretty much the saddest and most depressing movie I've seen in a while. Not sure what to think of it really. Was very slow moving and just felt hopeless throughout. But I guess that was the point. Decent movie if you like post-apocalypse type movies

just watched The Road. it's technically really good; the direction, cinematography, acting, makeup, it was all top notch and the tone of the movie was expertly executed. i had a few laughs, but overall, i give it an insanely depressing 3/5. i probably wouldn't watch it again, and i watched Downfall 3 times last week.

Just watched The Square. Fantastic doc that everyone should watch. The most human and honest telling of the Egyptian revolution I think we're ever going to see

Watched A Hijacking. Part subtitled in Danish and other half is in English. Fairly tense drama about a ship getting hijacked in the Indian Ocean by Somali pirates and focuses on the negotiations between the company's CEO and the pirates. I thought it was compelling and very tense. Makes you wonder if negotiations are handled the way they were in the movie. Pretty interesting angle IMO focusing on the back and forth negotiating between the two parties. Worth a watch. 6.9/10

had a lazy day, caught up on some horror from a lot of top 10 lists from 2013

toad road - super low budget indie movie about high school/college age kids doing a lot of drugs and losing touch with reality. kind of built up to an ending, but it felt like it thought it was deeper than it really was. i dont think i missed anything, i think it was just anti-climactic. i wouldnt recommend unless you're a really big indie horror fan.

red state - campy preachy kevin smith movie about super right wing christians getting into a fire fight with some cops. a lot of cameos, a lot of fun moments, and a lot of kevin smith standing on a soap box and making some political points. kind of fun though, i enjoyed it.

+1 - i think a really fun set up that they forgot to write an ending for. its about a wild college party that mysteriously has doubles of everyone appear 20 minutes behind everyone. so its like groundhog day but with dopplegangers. some really fun moments but the ending is so poorly thought out, i wouldnt recommend it.

all the boys love mandy lane - ms oot 2013 starring in her break out role in a really, really boring throwaway horror movie. i really dont see why it got praise. pretty pretictable. amber heard is hot and all, i feel like ive just seen this movie too many times without anything new added to really care

Jack Reacher was solid. Fun, pretty well-executed and it didn't take itself too seriously at all. I'm not familiar with the books but I thought Tom Cruise did good.
