The special is absurdly funny. The way he uses a stream of jokes like a run-on sentence is hilariously effective.

They seem to be downsizing if not phasing out dvds entirely.

It will be many years before they go exclusively to streaming. Don't forget there are still people out there who use VCR's regularly and are just getting used to DVD's. I would imagine that even if their customer base moved to 90% streaming 10% DVD shipments, it would still be profitable for them to mail DVD's.

Have I somehow missed this guy for the last couple years? I just switched my avatar back and I find this? I call shenanigans.

If you liked the game, you'll probably enjoy the movie just because there are several characters from the game in the movie. The moves don't depart too far from each character's specialty. Although Sonia Blade doesn't really "do" anything. I really liked Kato and Goro in the film version. Don't go in expecting much and you won't be disappointed. It has good entertainment value but that's it. The sequel I didn't think was as good as the first.

I've been watching 30 Rock, and loving it. I'm in to season 2 now. Awesome show. The Seinfeld episode is pretty good, and the Fighting Irish episode in S1 is pure gold.

Don't remember specifics on the episode, but the S1 one where they show the reel of Jack's bloopers had me laughing more than anything ever has (not including joking around with friends of course). I was alone so there was no incentive to laugh with other people, but I was just absolutely dying for two straight minutes, crying my eyes out with my arm literally soaking wet from tears.

Love the S2 episode with Buscemi as the investigator (the cigar thing etc.)...for some reason I trailed off though and never finished that season. I might now with it on demand.

Wow.

Didn't cry but did get pretty pissed off. There is no way that would happen where I live. That it could happen anywhere is outrageous.

re: Dear Zachary...

Probably one of the worst made documentaries I have watched on Netflix, the guy tries to make it light hearted at times with the still photos and animated lips, and the fast talking...it's like he's only seen Michael Moore documentaries and tried to copy the worst of it. Still recommend it watching it to anyone, but gosh that guy needs to find a new gig.

Re: Dear Zachary, the documentary was initially conceived as a letter to Zachary about Zachary's father, since Zachary would never have met him for obvious reasons. Hence the childish aspects, all devices that would appeal to a young kid.

I don't think that stuff was used to make it lighthearted at all.

Not that stuff, the only specific one I can remember is the moving lips over the still photos, please don't make me watch it again. Can anyone else expand on my thought here, or am I alone in this?

there is an absolutely fascinating documentary about japanese host clubs available called "the great happiness space."

male host clubs are places where women pay money to sit in a bar and have their host talk and flirt with them. they mark up the alcohol substantially and the hosts get a % of the profits from alcohol sales. so their job basically consists of pretending to be in love with their clients and drinking outrageous quantities of alcohol.

it's based mainly around an owner/host named issei who is extremely successful.

they interview several of his clients and some of his coworkers.

I got the streaming disc for Wii, so I'm finally on the streaming bandwagon. Really impressed so far. I have the watch instantly queue loaded up with stuff like Scooby Doo and Thomas for my little kids. It's like a DVR on steroids. I do wish that you could have separate queues or profiles or something, so I wouldn't have to scroll through all the kids' stuff to get to my stuff.
