It's almost certainly 2 or 3 for Bond. From Russia with Love has won multiple polls as the 'best' Bond and for many other people it's Goldfinger.

The Moore ones mostly stunk. Daltons were fine not great. Pierce had one good one. And Casino Royale is very, very good but the other Craig's are not awesome. I like OHMSS better than most but the Aussie's very wooden acting means it's not the very best one.

The two movies I walked out of in theaters were:
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)
From Hell (2001)
The worst movie I didn't walk out of was Hardware.

The worst two I walked out of were Dogma [and I've enjoyed Kevin Smith films], and Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever.

Both just incredibly stupid in so many ways.

I honestly think Craig’s Casino Royale is the best Bond movie ever.

Do IMAX movies sell out weeks in advance now? I'd like to see Dune in IMAX but it doesn't even show up on the only theater near me that has IMAX and I've tried up to 2 weeks out

Speaking of walking out of movies, I’d have done that for Army Of Thieves had it been in a theater and I was dumb enough to pay to see that piece of dogshit! I made it until “Brad Cage” and threw my TV out of a window.....

Alice in Borderland was kind of ****. My biggest gripe was the speechifying, which got exponentially worse towards the end. But overall really unsatisfying.

Yeah it wasn't that good. It had potential though, but never really paid off for me. I'll still watch another season of it though lol.

For fans of dark, twisted, dystopian stuff, I recommend on Netflix, Neill Blomkamp's "Oatstudios", which is a series of connected short films.

Awake on Netflix, haven't seen it yet but was filmed on one of my streets, paid $300 to run power cords over my property. Movie probably blows but will check it out. If anyone's seen it let me know how bad it sucks

Hmm, I thought I was going to have to get Paramount+ to see the new season on Yellowstone that starts tomorrow(2 episodes), and Mayor of Kingstown that starts in a week. But I see them both on my regular Paramount channel I get thru Cox.

That was kind of a big deal back in the day. Like their first feature release that was also released in theaters at the same time.

Edited with facts:

Quote:
Netflix bought the worldwide distribution rights for around $12 million. The film was simultaneously released theatrically and online through its subscription video on demand service on October 16, 2015,[18] with Bleecker Street handling the theatrical release.[19] Considering the online release a violation of the traditional 90-day release window of exclusivity to theatres, AMC Cinemas, Carmike Cinemas, Cinemark, and Regal Entertainment Group—four of the largest theater chains in the United States—announced that they would boycott Beasts of No Nation, effectively downgrading it to a limited release at smaller and independent theatres.[9][20] The film was also theatrically released in the UK on October 16, 2015, in Curzon Cinemas.

Sadly, this was the peak for Netflix original movies.

Not sure I’ve liked too many Netflix movies. I originally subscribed for their standup comedy. Their original shows have been quite good though!!

I feel like Netflix seeks to play the role of all of cable TV - with some shows designed for channels like Lifetime, others for Sci-Fi, and others (much less) that are more aligned with HBO originals. Same with their movies, the occasional high-end movie interspersed with many that are made-for-TV quality. Hit and miss similar to all of cable.

The idea of "originals" for movies is kind of absurd anyway. You have the garbage stuff they actually produce, but all the good "originals" are just **** they got in a bidding war to buy.

Different with series, but for movies I don't even think a lot of the stuff is exclusive(at least for amazon). Prime has originals that I've already seen. Netflix seems focused on foreign language and amazon is buying up anything with even a shred of hope in english.

From what I've read, Netflix has studios basically everywhere. They get a good script/idea, and then produce it multiple times, using local casts in different parts of the world.

Anyone seen The North Water on AMC+?

I like period pieces and love Stephen Graham but haven't heard much about this one. Thinking if checking it out

Blew through the new season of Narcos-Mexico this weekend. I love this show, very interesting. Really looking forward to the next season which should center on El Chapo.
