This is why John Oliver is so bad. He thinks the "gotcha" here is that the guy with the flag was caught saying something insensitive and thereby breaching etiquette. The actual gotcha is to say "If your family couldn't afford slaves anyway then how would freeing them affect their farm?"

I hope you guys aren't debating like Oliver lectures because you'll get nowhere at persuading people like that - it's just about winning points from people your own side.

wallace was also the primary voice within NASCAR that caused them to ban the confederate flag.

Bubba's a southern name, not a white name. Most of the Bubba's I've known were black. Same way most of the Deons and Tryones I've known were white.
