Babs getting into DFS is a great addition to this thread.

Man, I was having a really long night at work, and the last post since I checked this thread was him bragging about how daily fantasy picks was printing money... then just now I saw that SS.

Thank you for making my night. Seriously. That's the funniest **** I've ever seen.

Tbab, what is it gonna take to accept you're truly, truly bad at this?

Good point, and unless the Giants score 15 runs while their pitcher throws a perfect game there's no way he makes any money at it.

I dunno where to look, but did he pick all giants players?

no, he posted it earlier in the thread

maybe the giants didnt play today, I dunno. Clearly tho his only success comes on the giants. To bad hes not a cubs homer, he would have quit gambling a long time ago cuz hed never win, or at the least hed have a lot more money in his pocket since they are never a favorite and thats all babs bets

the giants are so, so bad, that's probably why he's broke. he's a homer for the wrong team.

although I suspect he's secretly a dodgers fan.

Ok gotcha. I'll just sit back and bet on the winners posted by babs ITT. 70%, 62% **** it. As long as they win more than they lose I make money correct? The 38% never hits and I'm golden!

I guess I can always start over right?

I have been following this thread closely for quite some time now, and having read every single post, I just had to give my unbiased opinion on the latest suggested rule idea (excessive whining etc. in the middle of the competition => penalties / ban).

I think that is a terrible idea and it is obviously designed to punish Tbab, just to have your collective fun in his expense. You will start warning him for the behavior he has kept up for 199 pages so far, just to put him on tilt and to be able to eventually penalize him (to tilt him even more).

You can pretend it is all about being civil, all of a sudden, but you have been egging him on for so long that it is a little late for that.

That being said, I wish you vindictive vipers good luck in the next competition!

beast, I feel like even El D could have done better than that!
I read this somewhat differently: from this, I conclude that The Beast was gaped by Sweatybalz.

I also vote for sixty picks. And FU Diablo, I know what email is!

Morning you assembled mob of cantankerous cumquats. When does the next contest start?

You also forgot to take me up on my free money. And next time do some lower stake h2hs and double ups and throw in a cheap tourney entry

Will make a pick monitor account later today in preparation.

Does anyone have any suggestions about which kind of coin works best for hunch capping? Does a quarter give better results than a dime? I want to maximize my chances.

Finally agree with being disappointed HIV won't be participating.

I saw that Howard disagreed, but when I saw this I had to agree, lol. I'll do whatever is necessary, but I reserve the right to complain about it! (I will take banned's advice...)

I agree with many others that HIV should feel that he can play if he wants. His legal penalty was assessed and he fulfilled it. (And I could tell stories about thirteen year olds that would scare any parent every time they looked at their kid.) (And before I am attacked, I am not defending anything)

Edit - I can't expand on this or anything else, because my stupid computer is still locking up, that will be my go to thing to blame if I don't win.

But then thats part of the fun

I enjoy reading a tbab rant as much as the next guy… but there IS a limit, after which it is just plain unpleasant. Conversely, it is enjoyable seeing babs squirm under an onslaught of poking… but again, there IS a limit after which it gets to be a bit gross and pretty much just bullying a mental defective. Again, it gets to be unpleasant.

So 'no' kulukkuluu, I wasn't proposing penalties just to set tbab up for penalties and 'yes' Alobar, tbabs irrational whining is part of the fun. I was proposing the penalties as a two-way system to try to balance excessive baiting at both ends of the spectrum.

Having said that, I prefer Alobar just keeping a leash on things when things get excessively out of hand… and that's a true lock to happen at both ends of the spectrum. Alobar shouldn't be shy about wielding a big stick to keep baiters and baitees in line when the going gets rough. Meh… that's my two cents anyway to keep some of the ugliness in check for HUNCHCAP II.

I read this as...ewww. 34 years old is probably a touch past the time where it's still okay to daydream that you hit a homerun in game 7 of the World Series and thousands of adoring fans are chanting your name.

wonder how many times he had to say, "oh wait! HE WAS FOULED!" in his driveway after he repeatedly clanked the game winner at the buzzer for the woyas...
08-04-2014 , 10:20 AM
Oh yeah, I agree with ninetynine about all those rule things, except tbab, lol. If people are allowed to poke him, he must be allowed to fight back. I get tired of it as well, but fair is fair.

AND thank you LKJ for vouching for me, but I can't feel comfortable betting unless my money is already paid in. (interesting theory of mitigating risk by El D, I hadn't thought of it that way, but my mind just doesn't work like that.)
08-04-2014 , 10:41 AM
kulu,

I agree with you re: not having subjective penalties like that.

I guess I'm too late to throw my hat into the ring but if you decide to up the number of entrants I'm keen for some belt loosening. Don't mind escrowing or whatever is preferred.

Liking the new rules; +600 is just about long enough for my preferred hail mary hurling.

SiMor and other interested parties,

Please still post if you're interested - final lineup won't be set for at least a couple more days.
