My job is driving me nuts. Thinking of quitting My job is driving me nuts. Thinking of quitting

I love how looking for input from other people is "attention whoring".

Couldnt give a rats ass about attention.

Im trying to find a solution.
04-23-2014 , 06:17 PM
A solution without giving us anything to work with including your job, education, experience, skills, ...
04-23-2014 , 06:18 PM
I told you my job.

Why does it seem like people are constantly fishing for personal info about me.

I have worked in casinos, sales, collections, just to name a few. I have an associates degree.

Im good at a lot of things (Waiting for the trolls to come out of the bushes any second now on this one)
04-23-2014 , 06:19 PM
Im good enough to post on here all day and still be the most productive employee in this entire building so you tell me my skills.

Sup,

If I add 50$ to the paintball prop bet is it worth your time?
04-23-2014 , 06:34 PM
sup,

I think there's a chance you may actually be among the more productive and capable $25k employees there.

ok, heres the best advice possible for you.

Don't quit your job because you need a way to support yourself. You dont have the necessary aptitude to make a living sports betting. You also lack the discipline and wherewithal to make money from gambling, but youve shown you dont have the ability to quit, so you need your job in order to support your habits and keep a roof over your head.

If you cant stand your job, then do what everyone else who is responsible does, look for a better one while still keeping your current one. If you find one, great, then quit your job and move to the new one.

There is no other advice for you accept this. You however dont want to hear it, nor care to follow it, you just want to talk about how great you are at betting MLB and have everyone spend their time giving you attention. You can easily however prove me wrong by taking my excellent advice, in which case theres really no reason to keep posting in this thread. Best of luck to you if thats the case, but we all know its not, so just carry on with your sad life and hopefully me taking the time to type a message to you helps add another piece of warmth to that hole you have inside that has you here desperately clamoring for replies.

I'm a WhiteSox fan. Pick the winner or loser of their next six games. Post in this thread.

Go 6/6 = free money

Good post.

All you have to do is look at the thread title. This thread was created because OP hates / wants to quit job, but the focus shifted as soon as the El D mentions a possible stake.

Thats why.

But to be honest, I dont believe a word he says anymore.
Against my better judgement, I'll actually try to be helpful here: You are right to be skeptical of what your boss says.

First, "have potential" is basically management slang for "do very little." You "have potential" because you have so much more you could do but don't.

Second, nobody ever wants you to leave. Hiring people is a pain in the ass and your boss would rather try harder to get you to "reach your potential" than to try with someone else. When your boss actually doesn't mind losing you, you're instafired. So "we'd hate to lose you" translates to "well we're not going to fire you just yet."

Good luck with your job or job hunt or sports betting.

Whatever.

Yeah look for another job, collections is like the nut low job.

Collections for 25k is borderline criminal.

Heres a question I would love peoples honest opinion on.

Lets assume for a second I have had a couple instances where I have yelled at my boss. Also at times my attitude can be a little rough and dont take criticism too well.

However I am the most productive employee.

Would those things theoretically be enough to hold me back from getting promoted or is he just being a jerk because we have butted heads a couple times?

I dont think I can trust him, he has been preaching all along about how he has a plan for me and wants me to move up but there have been two chances to promote me and both times it has been someone else.

He claims its because I am not professional on the phone and dont handle the people as well as I could, and I have a bad attitude and am too much of a hothead. He has also said that I will have plenty of chances down the road and if I can work on these things I will be promoted.

I honestly dont know what to think anymore and have a tough time trusting him.

This is a major part of my frustration.
04-23-2014 , 08:55 PM
Yeah you burned that bridge. Btw in a real job you don't get away with yelling at the boss.

If you have sales experience u can get a much better job IMO.
04-23-2014 , 08:57 PM
Absolutely none of those things surprise me at all.
04-23-2014 , 08:58 PM
So you think his excuse for not promoting me is legitiimate?
