I remember when Babs went over the limit, people did mention that the bet with 5850 wasn't affected and was still ongoing, but not sure if that was agreed anywhere.

They both agreed to void the 100 unit limit. That post would be harder to find than the agreement, but it was discussed and agreed upon. IIRC, 5850 was nice enough to allow Babs to continue with their wager and void that requirement after Babs hit the limit. So that shouldn't impact the wager or settlement.

On the other hand, if there are voided picks, then they have not completed the wager. This also came up in the Babs v grear contest and grear made 51 total picks to hit the 50 pick requirement.

Of course, the classy thing for 5850 to do would be to concede, but I don't think there's anything preventing him from waiting until the World Series is over to settle the bet.

I remember Babs saying he won by 33 units, right? So if there's enough voided picks technically 5850 could be live if he hit a bunch of big dogs while Babs went on a horrible losing streak.

Well I for one am surprised that beta somehow made a mistake with this contest, he's normally so fastidious when it comes to this sort of thing.

Honestly, I didn't look super closely after I saw they each had 1, but unless babs is stupid enough to bet more than 1 unit, or a MLB line with super long odds appears then its not enough to change the outcome. But its still technically possible

heh, if 5850 had been ruthless, he would have saved a pick (he actually probably could have said he had a voided pick, no chance babs double checks his own), refused to pick it till the final day, then after babs couldnt make anymore picks point out babs hadnt made his full 485 and won the bet.

That would've been a legit move by 5850, but that's what you lose out on by making a judge review the picks rather than yourself.
