Well unless I'm terribly mistaken, we can't get money onto Pokerstars.net without work-arounds like VPNs or whatever people use, so it's the "buyin for the game" part I was wondering about. But if there's a way to set up private heads up matches for play money then that would work.

This is an absolutely ridiculous thing to say. I was never even entertaining the idea of playing for $ in each game, just a sidebet if I got LOL good odds. I stated numerous times that I did NOT even want to play. Him bending over and saying pipe me with a 2:1 offer was the only reason I accepted. I never once agreed to anything then backed out, or attempted to angle.

The whole discussion was about playing SNGs and having a sidebet.

You know what a sidebet implies, right? Of course. A main bet.

As Custer has pointed out, you even stated that you needed extra ev with a side bet.

The whole time rep is talking about $100 (or more) SNGs and not a single peep from you about not playing for money.

You negotiate down to best of 7 and 2:1 sidebet with everyone obviously under the impression you're playing the SNGs for money.

Then, only after rep has accepted all those terms, you drop the play money angle.

That's like the very definition of an angle.

So the side bet was 2:1 on x$ for the series and the main bet was play chips? You don't even believe this, right?

At no point in my thinking was I ever playing him for $100 a game. He proposed $100 for 25 games and my response was "no thanks" It's as simple as that.

Now as far as me understanding what a side bet means, I looked at it like this. We play a best of 7 series, that's what we are "betting" on, and the money that we have both escrowed on the side are what the payouts are.

Pretty gross that someone with almost a decade of flawless history with money is being calling an angle shooting liar. It's not like I sought him out and tried to weasel him along the way. He asked me repeatedly to play him, even after hearing me say no.

In the end this is OOT, and 95% of posters itt have no idea about anything related to poker, hence the making fun of a 300 game sample of turbo SNGs, (that actually equate to like a $40 + hourly when 25 tabling after RB) if you're just looking at that sample, which again is like looking at a baseball team that starts off 1-0 and drawing a conclusion.

am i missing anyone? also i think it'd be super cool if some players wanted to play a variant other than nlh. maybe set nlh as a default and if two players agree to play a diff game, do that for the match instead? i'd actually look forward to playing my matches in something other than nlh, but i'm cool either way.

i'll bear the brunt of the organizing work if need be, i guess it just boils down to what kind of stakes people want to play for and what kind of customizations we can make to the format. i've never even looked at pokerstars home games so idk how that goes.

Why the **** would I not think the games are turbo? If I had said super turbo or hyper turbo, you'd have a point. For every 1 regular speed HU that goes off, there's probably 20 turbo HUs that go off, and 50+ super/hypers that go off, if not more.

So yeah, how on earth could I have possibly slipped in the word turbo, what was I possibly thinking?

And I told you a few days ago when we could start, then I offered a start time today. Which is a lot more effort than you've put into making this happen, especially from the challenger. Like I said, I don't give a **** to play you. If I win I'm not going to feel "good" or anything, it's poker.

oh idk, maybe because we were basing it off my estimation of a 60% edge (which, granted, comes mostly from adjustments in the middle/later games of a 20+ match series, but w/e), and it would likely be impossible for either of us to have anything close to 60% in a handful of turbos. but you knew that already, and that's why you tried to slip that in there. don't front.

You originally said something about you never considering betting for real money.

After being confronted with the quote about extra EV is your new stance best summed as:

"Ok I implied I would play the sngs for real money, but never agreed to it, but it's not an angle shoot"


During a negotiation, implying terms and then changing seems like an angle. It's an angle in the sense you are trying to get the negative perception of "backing out" put on rep, rather than yourself.
