My cat Rockybear loves getting brushed... had to clear the brush of hair 5 times last night...
Yes, I realize the couch is hideous.

Feed your cats' some quality wet food now and then. When I started giving wet food to my cats', their fur became softer.

Omg, your cat is huge. Also he is a Phillies fan. His obesity and poor choice of sporting team could have something to do with his hair loss.
