I only ever heard of this when Pokimane got nominated. I think the voice stuff wouldn't work with an man's, or a female long-term smoker's voice but there's no reason they couldn't do the other stuff. There does seem to be some stuff about that presents the girl more than the sound though - e.g. classified by the girl's costume rather than what ASMR sound triggers it contains - but Poki isn't doing that. I don't see this as an a good substitute for porn though.
