If voters needed to have 10 OOT posts in the last year, I don’t see any good reason to have changed things.

However, if the lobbying brought votes from long-dormant OOT poster accounts vs actual current OOT participants, then I agree with making a change and requiring some level of recent active participation in OOT.

I don’t think lektor should be blamed for not thinking of all possible scenarios in advance.

It’s always an effective rhetorical mechanism to argue about someone else’s subjective intention. I may have to call you SADamus for a week or two.

As for me, I think bundy’s posting is usually poor, and I think AOC is quite attractive. I voted for her because she is more attractive and interesting than Rachel Riley, despite the fact that I dislike many of her views. I don’t carry around a political litmus testing kit either for voting here or keeping friends.

I do think it’s fair for Lektor to try to control the obvious politics trolling that is going on.

What would you do with a guy like +rep, who is often a very aggressive and very political poster who was contained within OOT and then essentially banned himself from OOT over a year ago and came back only to vote for AOC? He would seem to be a Boaty McBoatface voter here. So too with the people who accuse Lektor and others of racism — it’s obviously stupid political trolling. What do you think the right answer is as to those folks?
