If you are a smart person and a contestant I would assume you would know the 21 questions they are going to pick out of the 50. If there were any that you know you answered truthfully but were worried might be problems with your guest why not just tell them beforehand.

Like with the football guy who got eliminated, why not just tell your wife that there were some gray questions and you went with the safe option of saying he has touched a client more than necessary, because it's easier to say that he has since you can't define what "more than necessary" actually means.

The second guy doesnt seem to have any skeletons, problems yes, but all his problems seem public or are obvious enough that those close to him know he has a gambling problem and wears a beaverskin. Even the cliffhanger was meh, "Have you ever gambled your kids education" while the guys kid asks him the question. I'm sure that it's not a secret if he did so all he is really doing is admitting to America that he's a degenerate. No big whoop. I'm hoping he wins so it shows that the game is exploitable.

I'm guessing most of the reactions from the guests are staged or taken from other points in the show. i may give this show another chance since it's easier to leave on after American Idol than search for some other show that will make me dumber.

I would suck as a contestant because I question things in my life all the time, and rarely have/give a black and white answer to any question.

Walhberg: Do you waste time on forums while at work?

all,

Please do society a favor and refuse to watch this show, it's a national embarrassment.

Pretty intolerable watching live imo, I managed to shave the ******ed pauses waiting for the correct answer by fast forwarding,

Probably not bumpworthy, but I watched the show tonight and the beauty pageant's sister was definitely f&ckable, sans the mustache.

Was actually pretty cool when that hairpiece's son found out his dad was truthful when answering whether or not he degenerated his son's college fund. His son didn't believe him for years, and "found out" the truth tonight. Pretty cool, I was legitimately happy for both of them.

Can't believe the beauty pageant chick is a virgin...........

hahahaha, I thought the same thing. WTF was up with that? Good god, someone needs to tell her

I gave the show another shot, and was better than the first ep but not by much. The gambler guy had some really good questions, but it pissed me off that he quit. Obviously he was open about everything, so why not go for broke? Don't really see how his son could call it gambling since its not really, since all the dad has to do is just tell the truth. Tho I guess with the rigged factor of the lie detector it was prolly a good idea. Really doesnt matter tho since hes just going to blow the $100K betting on black

I knew the chicks questions were going to be hella lame once it was made known she was a virgin, its just going to be a bunch of stupid catty questions about how she thinks shes prettier than everyone and is jealous of other peoples successes, like thats any kind of shocking.

"I plan to remain a virgin until I get married".

Pretty much proves lie detectors can be fooled.

Guys, the point of this show is not about people lying or not. Its about people telling all about themselves. While the idea behind it may be kinda stupid, its going to be a big hit IMO.

First guy was a real degen. They play up this gambling side of him and he ends up taking the 100K and "not gambling for once" angle. Then as he's hugging his g/f, son etc...you hear "We'll double it tomorrow"...LOL...

lol, i think that was his boss that mumbled that.

i thought it was an ok show. they definitely picked up the pace from last weeks except for the first 10 mins or so, it moved along ok.

but i think it will get boring within a few weeks unless they get some more quality degens on there.

I really enjoyed the guy's questions, ditto on being happy for him. But the taken money from job question was kind of weak compared to the rest. Too easy to weasel out of it the way he did. Re: quitting, I'm in the lie detector is rigged camp as well; the football dude's final question most likely proves that. It's not just the embarrassment factor that the contestants risk.

I'm also pissed that the girl is a virgin, because now next episode is going to have her sucky boring questions first, and then when she quits or loses, we get someone else's easy round. Bah.

Hate to admit it, but I'm hooked... pre-selected contestants/actors or not.

I think he only took the money because his son was going to ****ing kill him if they didn't walk with the 100k.

Interesting spot the gambling guy was in.

He's like 90% to answer each question correctly. However, if he loses the 100k, his family hates him forever.

I find it odd that after someone admits something terribly embarrassing about themselves they still do the long buildup to "the answer is ....................................true". A bit of an anticlimax at that point.

exactly what i was saying to my class today...

one of the students brought the show up, and i ended up going on a rant about how i could really care less what america knows about my 'dark side', give me the chance for the public to know my worst 21 secrets, i'll tell everyone for that kind of money...

of course, then, they started asking me questions that were on the show, and for free, to prove the point, i answered them..

probably have a phone call or two tomorrow morning..

nah...it's just funny how protective 14 year-olds are of their secrets...we argued for 5 minutes about how far the gambling guy should've went..

them: 'but he could've lost it all if he didn't want to admit his secrets!!!!'

me: 'for $200,000, you wouldn't tell the world you gamble???'

them: 'maybe, but what if they asked some reeeeally personal questions, like how many people he had sex with??!??!!?!'

me: *dies*

gotta love 8th graders.

p.s. they asked me 'how many'

p.s.s. i told them i'd answer honestly if they came up with $10 between the 15 of them

p.p.s.s. they didn't have $10

This show is pretty brutal but I will still probably watch every episode. If you Tivo it and basically fastforward through everything except actual questions and answers you can get through it in like 15 min.

I think my strategy would be to answer every question in the most negative/embarrassing way possible, then if the lie detector comes back with a negative it just makes the show look ******ed bc why would I ever lie to make myself look worse?

While this guy is prob a huge degen, you can't really conclude that based on his answers. I'm prob the biggest gambling nit ever, don't even play table games or anything, but even I'd prob just answer yes to "have I considered I have an addiction" and "have you ever lied about losses". I'm sure somewhere along the line I've told my parents I lost 500 in a week instead of 625 or whatever. Also, while I've never stolen anything meaningful from my parents I'm sure at one point when I was 10 or something I probably took a quarter from my dad's change jar. Everyone would think I was a huge d-bag for having to say yes to that, but really it was a meaningless amount.

I dont think anyone concluded that based on his answers, they concluded that based on the things he said. If it was you or me up there, im sure mos intelligent people would have a different reaction than "OMG, what a degenerate!!"

Same with the stealing money from your parents question, when I heard that the first thing i thought was "wow, what a stupid ****ing question, everyone is going to answer yes to that" then laughed after she answered and the audience "gasped*. I have no doubt there is some prompter in the audience that has *gasp* written on it.

He didn't just answer a question about whether he thought he had a gambling problem, he seemed to mention it repeatedly. He also alluded to the fact that he had gambled away alot of money in his life.

I hate to say it, but I see a future full of bulimia and a disfiguring plastic surgery addiction for the beauty pageant chick. Her sister could have mutton chips and she'd still look better.

The gambling degen's son was a douche. The kid was way too happy playing everything up for the cameras... which is why the brought him on the show, I guess. When he first walked out he said, "You ready to win some money?... Better tell the truth."

Then when they asked whether he'd ever hit on one of his GF's friends, the son throws his arm out as if to stop her from hitting the panic button and says, "Don't hit the button. Let him answer." WTF right does he have to tell her what to do in that situation?

The kicker was when he was telling degen dad to go for it after the 25K level, then decides he should stop at 100K. Suddenly he's the moral authority, saying, "This family is not gambling any more." He didn't care if his dad went out and blew 30K at Hollywood Park the next day, he just wanted a new car first.

wow yesterday's episode was so rigged. No way the dude would lie on the 25k question about something as stupid as underwear stuffing. And obviously the produces knew the lie detector got it wrong or they never would have put it as the 25k question, it was way easier than a few of the questions before it imo.

Also I think the chick's sister made it more obvious that they were both bulimic than a simple yes answer ever could have.
