I made those once, didn't turn out looking anything like the picture. I think I might have cut the potatoes too thick, even though I cooked them longer than he said, they still were a little tough

Crissy Teigen herself better come with those if I'm giving up mashed potatoes.

Why would you give up mashed potatoes.

She also said that is the best recipe in her book, which is a good book.

Nah, he's right. I say this pretty much every year, but if you don't like turkey because you think it's dry or lacking in flavor or whatever, you've probably just never had a correctly prepared turkey.

They give all the workers at my casino a turkey for Thanksgiving.

My problem is, I'm a single person. My only housemate is an 8 lb cat. Da **** I need an 18 lb turkey for.

I let one of my coworkers with a family have mine, now he has Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner locked up.

I do like turkey, though. I have to work all Thanksgiving weekend so not sure what I'll do this year.

I'm not stuffing my cat inside a turkey.

Too much fur for my taste.

Yep, I was never a big fan of Thanksgiving because the turkey was always meh, we got a deep fried one year and it was so freaking good, I bought a deep fryer and the rest is history. I'm still not a fan of sweet potatoes and extras like that.

There's more than one way to skin a cat.

Pretty much. We're having alot of people over so we're doing catering and it seems like all the catering companies want to serve tandoori turkey skewers or other assorted nonsense. We basically had to go with traditional (because i demanded it), plus all sorts of fusion nonsense, and a complete vegetarian as well as vegan menu.

Sweet potatoes are overrated.

It WAS almost designated the national bird instead of the eagle.

+1

That's why I'm scoping out buffets this year. They won't stop me from hitting the line over and over again. Only problem is there's no leftovers.

I look forward to the leftovers more than the actual meal.

Comfy clothes. No hostess duties. No forced chit chat about thankfulness.

50$ just for frying a bird? o_O

Nahhhhh. Why would you overpay for someone to prepare unhealthy version?

Oil is expensive, and not having to deal with the cleanup and cooking. $50 is not a bad deal. Also, it isn't unhealthy.

aren't the infrared gas fryers something like $80? Might as well get one of those and use it more than once.
