At any rate, Mirriam-Websters currently endorses its use as a synonym for 'figuratively' or 'approximately,' so it is literally impossible to misuse it now.

Maybe it's a lost cause, but they should add a qualifier to the "synonym for 'figuratively'" part noting that this usage is only acceptable when used by stupid people.

It's funny, because I was one of the first in the country to be allowed to use a programming language for my degree language requirement in the early 80's. It's not worth too much now...

I dunno, I feel like that approach has much less risk assessment built in. There's really no situation in which you would want to hit a person regardless of the risk of injury to yourself? Because if you're taking that into account, you're going to find situations in which you'd hit a woman but not a man.

yesterday morning I made a mango salad, and decided to add cherries (1-2lbs) and honeydew melon to the already already mixture of 7 chicken breasts (cubed), feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, red onion.

just had a poop smelled like potpourri. bathroom smelled better after I left it. first time ever!

I'd say the standards for violence shouldn't hinge on who somebody is, but what they're doing and what's required to make them stop doing it. (and yeah, that means you basically never hit anybody unless you're defending yourself/people who need it)
