WTF did I see happen?

That stretch of highway that meanders through the Badlands in South Dakota is pretty amazing.

I love it. On both sides of the river.

Yeah, but are the nights stronger than moonshine?
01-27-2016 , 08:44 PM
Never mind, with all the alligator lizards in the air that is not a very good drive.

Through some weird connections among the neurons and dendrites in my brain, the word "afterglow" triggered a recollection of the phrase, "So Much for the Afterglow," which turns out to be an album by the band Everclear, which contains a song that I think would be a great addition to the late night drunk sing-a-long 90s rock theme we had going on a little while back. Pretty surprised that it only has like 15k hits on youtube. This was a pretty big song there for a while, no?

Santa Monica way better

I like the road that takes you out of Pennsylvania heading west. I-80 or something. Nice scenery, and there is the quaintest little strip club/house somewhere along that path that I've always wanted to check out.

Yeah, PA has some fun rolling hills. I like West Virginia and Colorado too.

no way, there are some non major stretches of road that are absolutely ****ing insane, but they are just 2 lane jobs that dont really go anywhere important and are in the middle of nowhere.

So much for the afterglow was an incredible album. There's like one bad song on it.

That particular upload has 15k views, but I'm sure that song has been listened to on YouTube millions of times.

Highway 69 thru Oklahoma may be the worst. It has designated rest stops for despair and desolation.

I think Everclear's one of those bands that was popular for a brief time and will unfortunately fade into the background as time passes. Maybe when the 2025 version of 90s Freedom Rock comes out they'll have a track on it.

Yup, Santa Monica has like 4 mill and Buy You has 2.

father of mine and new life kinda blow tbh.
01-28-2016 , 03:33 PM
everclear is basically a one hit wonder. all of their hits are renditions of Santa Monica which sound basically the same.
01-28-2016 , 03:36 PM
Chase,

Santa Monica is awesome and definitely the signature Everclear song. But they had a number of really popular songs:

Santa Monica
Everything to Everyone
I Will Buy You a New Life
Father of Mine
Wonderful

They sure did go back to the well a lot, though: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evercl...ilation_albums

I think their best song is Strawberry:

01-28-2016 , 04:14 PM
tbh, I don't think Father of Mine can be sung without ****ty pop rock in the backround.
