I do tell my mom she's the best mom in the world IRL, too.

But I had to shake my head - at work I was wished a happy Mother's Day by a coworker. When I pointed out I'm not a mom (which I was pretty sure she knew), she mentioned my cat.

Bit off topic but I feel like FB has become different things to different people. I couldn't give a flying **** about peoples' major life events and would never use it for planning.
