Boobaloo, if you think there's something wrong with your tap water call the Department of Public Health. Most likely causes are bad pipes or paranoia.

It's so ******ed to say you don't trust the EPA (who's job it is to make sure you're safe) but you'll buy bottled water from people who actually are pulling one over on you.

I made a slight reference to your added paragraph earlier. I didnt buy the bottled water bc it made some claim of being totally pure and great for me, I kind of assumed that it was better, and thats where my mistake is. So ya, point taken.

But as far as trust goes, why do u trust the EPA? Do you know what their standards are, or the frequency or thoroughness of their testing is? Trusting the EPA to keep your water clean is just as silly as trusting a bottled water company to provide you with clean water, imo. I dont think the gov is out to get us or trying to dumb us down thru water contamination I just think that mistakes, oversights, institutional inertia, and private interest can contribute to unexpected issues.

As far as paranoia in relation to my tap water, where do you live that the idea of unclean tap water is so foreign to you? I don't know anyone who drinks tap water here in S. Florida. I literally mean anyone. When I visit family in the northeast, I drink the tap water and it's great. Specifically Massachusetts and Maine. I hope your dismissal of my worries is because you feel that I am a paranoid ****** and not because you blindly trust what the government tells you.

FWIW, 20/20 did an analysis of the quality of public drinking water vs bottled water (I think Dasani) and a blind taste test that was a NYC park water fountain vs multiple brands of bottled water.

In both cases the tap water proved to be cleaner according to the scientist and tasted better according to the public poll than the bottled water.

Lol, Everytime someone mentions bottled water on this forum some toolbag says this.

People who think buying bottled water is douchy are as bad as the people who refuse to drink tap water.

I thought I knew what douchy meant but now I'm unclear. If someone is drinking bottled water and they walk up to you drinking at a water fountain and push you off of it and tell you to drink bottled water instead and then put their bicep in your face and make you watch them flex for 5 minutes that would be douchy.

Everyone knows that manhattan and the surrounding suburbs has the best water cause they get it from the Kensico Reservoir. Best water source in the country, 2nd is Bay Area.

Worst is Fla and Vegas water.

That's why I mentioned the caffeine thing. I'm completely open to the possibility that there is nothing wrong with the water and it's just me.

Then why did you make this thread?

Try drinking literally any other type of bottled water for a week and see if the problems go away. You can't figure this out?

Also the tap water in Seattle area is delicious

What is your deal Bob? I feel like you dont understand basic english. "Open to the possibility" - what does that mean to you? It's not like I called 911, I posted something I thought could be a potential problem on a discussion board to elicit opinions or possible stories of similar situations. To even mention what you did about a brain tumor is hilarious. A few days of feeling strange and I should get checked for a brain tumor bc u knew a guy who had one once. Thanks, good advice.

imo

No, I don't think you should get checked currently. I am merely illustrating that it could be freaking anything.

If you continue to have nausea and headaches for several days then the general advice to "ummm, maybe you should see a doctor about that" isn't exactly outlandish.

My opinion, as I already stated, is that nobody here can know anyway. It might be the water...it might be something else.

A couple months ago I think I had some sort of food poisoning thing. I was puking super-duper hard a few hours after dinner. I couldn't definitely figure out whether it was from the restaurant I ate at or where it came from (had dinner with 10 other people none of whom got sick). Incredibly, I did not think this was a thread-worthy subject and I did not come to 2+2 to "elicit opinions" about whether the chicken fingers I had for dinner that night were what made me so sick.

this is much more cost effective than buying bottled water, tastes better, and is infinitely healthier than brita or bottled or tap
gov't has been dumbing us down for decades by poisoning our water + food supplies
^ Proof that the government's plan is having some effect, IMO.

You stop using an addictive substance and feel nauseous. Then you use the addictive substance again and suddenly feel fine. Conclusion: the water you have been drinking is making you feel bad.

hume - trying to cut him a little slack here. He probably can't think straight without his caffeine.

Be thrown away when you're done drinking.
Be stored in quantities in easily accessible areas such as your entryway or car.

What's frustrating is the underlying assumption that I am ******ed to the point that I dont understand I should stop drinking the water regardless or that coke has caffeine. I guess part of that is my story and part is the assumption that everyone else is a moron. I can't fault folks for that too much though, I guess, as I have no established rep or track record.

Bottom line is you have all backed me into a corner where the only way to prove I am not a crazy ****** is to in fact poison the water myself and alert the authorities that winn dixie is trying to kill people. I'll report back when done. In the mean time, only douchebags will die though, so I guess its ok.

boobaloo - There is no underlying assumption at all and your lack of established rep on these forums has nothing to do with anything.

If you had a rep as the super-most-smartest poster on 2+2 but made this exact same post/thread the criticisms and observations would still be the same. If you were making your first post on here but made it a good one then people will observe that it's an interesting post.

bottled water is the best scame on earth.
You either live in a place with good tasting tap water or you don't have enough taste to tell the difference. In most places I've lived I just use tap water, but that's mostly out of laziness.
