The Arizona sun must have given the bartender a crazy tan and hair loss. She is spotted in this video.

Yeah that was crazy of him to show people. Man, good for him though.

I went in on tickets with a group for Saturday's drawing and we won $104. We matched four of the regular numbers (a 1 in ~19,000 shot) and matched the Powerball on another line.

The guy who on the other half(presumably?) is getting his picture all over facebook, and I dont think he has cashed it yet either.

He says he will give 1 million randomly to someone that shares the photo. Seems a little weird.

Heres the photo:

Fake.

Also never understood why anyone would participate in the biggest scam ever. Just go to the casino and martingale $1 or $2 into millions at roulette... you'd have a better chance and could stop earlier.

Obv don't mean someone who buys a ticket once a year for the lulz, but the people spending hundreds every month on them. Maybe it's cause a bunch of them people are religious nuts who see gambling as a sin but have no problems with playing the lottery.

You would hit the table and/or casino max bet way before you got into the hundreds of millions.

Assuming the black gentleman in the video was one of the winners, the second ticket has already been cashed and the family that won already did their press conference. It happened like the day after the drawing.

No person would keep going after reaching a certain amount, and if it's a major casino they would have no prob taking 7 fig bets from you. Possibly even 8 figs since you would stop if you lost it all at any point.

So let's follow your logic and suppose that I am an individual that would like to take a chance at winning ~$250MM while only risking a dollar. Your contention is that I should do this at roulette rather than playing the lottery.

Beginning with a dollar and rolling over all of my money, I would need to win 28 hands in a row to reach such a sum.

$1*2^28 = $268,435,456

My odds against are 1/(18/38)^28 - 1 = 1,219,861,605 to 1

The odds to hit the Mega Millions jackpot are 1:175,711,535

I will grant that there is the possibility of more than one winning ticket, but it is not clear to me at all that roulette is superior for this task given the order of magnitude difference in difficulty and the challenge of actually placing such bets in real life.

I don't think you understand what martingale means.

You know that in a martingale, once you win, you go back to betting minimum right? And whenever you win, you are only winning the minimum, regardless of what power of 2 * minimum bet the current bet is at.

say minimum is $1.

I bet $1, I win, I bet $1 again.

I bet $1, I lose, I bet $2, I lose, I bet $4, I lose, I bet $8, I win

I have only made $1.

I've done betting on roulette with the Martingale system. To date im down over 2k. I'll never play any degen games again. Casinos encourage martingale betting. There is no memory in roulette, the last 10 colors and numbers that they show are just to get people excited about whats hot and whatever....The gambler's fallacy. Fact is, math is against you every time the wheel spins.

Martingale has nothing to do with memory in roulette

It's just based on the theory that if u can keep doubling your bet then eventually you will hit you 18/38 shot and make a bet and u are risking a lot of money to make very little each time

However you can run out of money to double (either money on you or casino limit) before hitting

I martingaled Party blackjack +$4000 in 2006. I'm pretty certain the game was rigged because otherwise I was on a lifetime of lifetime heaters.

This story is not made up.

Wow, how does he not share a small portion of it with his extended family. Greedy. Once you get past 10 mil it's just funny money at that point anyway.

I wouldn't give money to anyone other than my parents. Why? Because nobody else deserves it. It's not about greed. I'd spend a lot of the money on charity/research.

It doesn't have anything to do with deserved or earned... it's I have serious bank, another person doesn't and it would give me satisfaction and enjoyment to improve their lives in a meaningful way.

Much depends on your family ties and how close you are...

tbh if my sister won the lotto I'd be satisfied if she bought me a car. I don't want to live a life I didn't work to deserve.

May be one reason I don't play the lotto.
