Peter the slow Asian kid was such a home run, especially when Wendy called in trying to date him. He's ten thousand times more interesting than Medicated Pete, who I really wish would just go away at this point.

I feel the show has been pretty good since Artie left. Various people such as Jason, JD, Depace, Ralph, and Langford have all stepped up and helped make the show better.

The Good News: Howard has decided to replace Artie.

I'm just now on Wednesday's show, but the JD/Ashley Dupre stuff is outstanding. JD cracks me up every time, especially when he makes the "whoop" sound.

solid guests today with the german penthouse chick and sarah silverman. I could have gone for even more of fred's nazi schtick with the penthouse pet. I hope he makes his 'guess the jew' with guests a regular bit.

I can tolerate Benjy vortex on the wrap up show but it's so aggravating on the main show, which is disappointing because I feel like benjy is a great writer.

I am so rooting for JD to get something going with Spitzer's whore. Hopefully she's craving publicity enough to use him.

This is one good result of my car being buried under snow and not having listed to satellite radio since Friday.

It didn't take but 15 minutes after the American Idol discussion mercifully ended, when they started playing the Pete the Asian Virgin Game (made him pronounce celebrity names and they had to guess what he said), that I was back to laughing out loud.

It's just been a really terrible show for weeks now

Something has to change and soon. I'm not even listening at this point, just checking daily recaps and praying for anything interesting.

+1. I check Mark's site to see if there's anything worth listening to, and then I just fast-forward to it. The Leno/AI/Oprah/chess crap is completely consuming the show, and it's booooooring. Plus, I usually prefer no guests, but has anyone else noticed that they can barely even book two guests a week now? I'm guessing no one wants to come on the show now that the entire crew is mailing it in.

EDIT: And the term "guests" includes people like Pete the Asian and Benjy's girlfriend, both of whom are basically Wack Packers.

Yeah, his revisiting of the rant against Dorito's being a rip off on Frito's is so tilting because no one has brought it to his attention that it's the same ****ing company Frito/Lay making both of them! And why would he care if they weren't.

Also, Howard judging on Idol would be great if he kept up the Radio show to talk about it, which I really doubt will happen. If he leaves radio I don't see him as interesting at all.

I'm just speculating, but wouldn't joining AI end his radio career? Unless all of this AI talk and show chatter about retirement is a negotiation tactic, it sounds like he's going to "retire" from radio in December, and that lines up with the next season of AI. We all know Hampton Howie would love to become Hollywood Howie, too, especially since his wife would be able to work out there as well.

Either way, he's a dick. I feel bad for all of the guys who work on the show that don't know if they're going to be employed in 11 months (and probably won't know for another 5-6). The guys who do "legitimate work" on the show (Gary, Will, Jason) will be fine, but people like JD, Richard, Sal, and Brandano can't really go find comparable jobs.

He just isn't booking dick for guests, but that's kinda standard on the show around holidays. It SHOULD pick up.

He's just really taken the talk show stuff too far and needs to fill the jackie/artie seat

Great wrap-up show on Thursday, following up on Ronnie throwing a garbage can at Jason. Good-looking douchebag Jared Fox joined a bunch of people who were goofing on Jason, and then Jason came in and verbally devastated Jared. Jared is kind of an idiot, which may not slow his rise through Corporate America much, but it can't help him, can it?
