I find these Ted talks to be extremely educating and inspiring. So to take you as far away from poker and covid as possible here I will start a list. Enjoy! And add if you like. It doesn't have to be ted talks as long as it's inspiring and new.

Scientology is a cult. Believe me I have done my fair share of research on cults. Ted is none of them.
I don't see why bringing the best of each profession together and sharing knowledge is a cult.

Can't change it anymore. But if you have the power to edit feel free to change it.

You might be right. I would, but now I cannot edit them anymore.
But believe me, reading the titles of the videos every one of them is outstandingly entertaining and worth to watch given you are interested in the subject.

What I always wanted to ask you. Who is that chick in your avator?

First video is outstanding, it's about a ex user who became a Forbes 500 enterprise.

Second is about a ex nazi who explains how he ended up there.

Third one is for procrastinators, funny stuff.

If you are interested, you might as well just read the relevant Wikipedia article (which will likely contain 5x the information content of a TED talk...).

Then if you are really interested, you could read a relevant popular science book...

Then if you are really really interested, you could read a relevant textbook and/or watch some relevant MOOC lecture series on YouTube...

On the other hand if you don't really care and just want the shallowest of shallow overview; watch the TED talk.

My one strike came from reposting an anti trump video. Not from caps. But I appreciate the sentiment. And hopefully fixed it for you.

The thing is why audio books and YouTube is so popular nowadays. People like to hear from someone they can connect with because they can either see them or know their reputation. Hence reading Wikipedia is not as sufficient ad you may imply as it is not reaching the broader audiences. You are right though in the fact that written information is deeper mostly but not as fast and fast an easy to consume. You have given YouTube links which I appreciate. But this is pretty paradox reading your complaints about videos.

It's not a complaint about videos; just a complaint about the contents of the TED talks being so shallow they are worse than useless...

There is already a thread on TED talks.
Next time I'll check before making one.
I apologize for that. And if a mod wants to move this thread or combine or delete pls do so.
