I'm in the mood for some smooth, high quality alcohol, like Kettel One. But my experience is limited to standard college drinks - cheap liquor and juice/coke.

Can anyone recommend a good bottle that is worth the premium price?

I don't know your definition of premium but I bought a bottle of 12 year old Macallan last week and it is really good if you're looking for a single malt scotch whiskey under $100.

I typed it out but forgot to add the sentence back after editing it. It can be anything except gin, bourbon, or liquorice flavored drinks (like jagermeister).

You can't go wrong with Five O'Clock vodka.

Well, actually you can, and it's not top shelf it's bottom of the well, but anyway it'll get you ****ed up right quick.

I had a bartender recommend this to me a few weeks ago and I agree, Milagro is probably the best tequila you can get for around $30.

Top Liquors imo:

Vodka- not much of a vodka fan, flavored is hands down finlandia grapefruit ($17), non flavored is tito's from tx.($22)

Rum- I am michigan bias, i really love the new artisan collection that the new holland brewery makes. Their "freshwater" Lake Heron white rum is amazing. Take any white rum that you have ever had and this blows it out of the water. ($25) They make a good dark rum too but i still like captain morgan private stock. ($24)

Tequila- cuervo platino ($50)

Scotch- The Glenlivet 18 year ($50). or Glenfiddich 21 year bout $120 (most expensive liquor i like)

Get yourself on some Scotch- real single malt whiskeys and you will never drink anything else ever again. Tomintoul, Macallan, Glengoyne, Oban, Bowmore, leanr about Scotch!

Ketel One isn't one of my favorite vodka for shots or mixing-- it's alright for sipping neat or on the rocks-- but nothing beats grey goose for vodka.
