So what is the best way of getting approved. Do I just need to put that I work for myself, or that I am just an investor or just come clean and say I do online poker or what???

Thanks

i would say you play online poker, give them screenshots of bank account, bank statement, or something of that nature, and give them past refs. i've always done that and never had a problem - always had 10kish in my acct.

one time was through a condo rental agency, other one was private through cl.

honestly I don't know anything about the MI real estate market, but I'm guessing your landlord isn't going to turn away potential tenants without a good reason right now

More people will rent in a ****ty economy.

If you have the money, pay a full year in advance and negotiate a reduced rent. That'll ease his mind.

I would think turnover is also higher, leading to higher vacancy rates

Paying in advance is epic fail. Assuming OP is applying for normal apartment, not multi million dollar place on New Yorks upper east side. Don't mention poker. Get good credit. Personal equity investor. So easy.
