Unnamed 2p2er is a decent friend of his we ended up eating at a restaurant in a LA casino and then playing some 20 or something. Norm liked poker back then. Pretty sure I went out of my way to talk to him a lot which was easy because everyone else at the table knew him on a somewhat personal level. I'm a pretty dark dude myself so I am usually drawn to funny people...who I find to almost always be deranged a little.

Robert Schimmel - great Jewish comedian who was prevalent in the early 90's. Very vulgar (pretty much barred from network tv bc he wouldn't tone down his act). Youtube him or spotify. Think all his albums are on there. His bit on aol (from like 98), while a bit outdated, is still ***** hilarious. Sadly, he passed away few years back round same time as greg giraldo. He had beaten hodgkins disease snd suffered few heartattacks, but was killed when his 19 year old daughter got in a car accident w him in passenger seat. So sad. He left behind 6(!!) children. R.I.P.

Schimmel was a great guest on Stern and I found him to be hilarious.

He certainly had an interesting love life lol.

Maz Jobrani - Iraninan-American stand up. Focuses a lot on stereotypes of middle easterners and the politics that come from those topics. Really great special on Netflix called U Come In Peace.

Meant "I Come In Peace." Also meant he dispels stereotypes about Middle easterners.

i much prefer the long form style of burr, jefferies, CK, birbigs etc.

the only "short form" comics i can think of that i like are jeselnik, buress, and tosh.
10 minute sets? You wish! We're talking 3 minute bits here. It's very bite sized comedy. Set up, punch. Set up, punch. Try to fit as many innoffensive jokes in 3 minutes as you can.

Someone like Louis CK or Patton Oswalt would never thrive on a show like LCS.

But of course, I'm still going to watch bc I'm a fan of stand up and usually have a friend or two who makes it on every year. Not showing off, it's just a small community. But yeah, with LCS I am often left feeling very unsatisfied.

I was a little disappointed by Jim Jeffries in Toronto this past weekend. He didn't flop or anything and his material was new, but it just didn't pack the punch I was expecting from him. He ended up giving up on one of his bits on gun-control because the flow just wasn't there and people started interrupting him. Two separate guys tried to give him drinks and he just wasn't 'aving it; he kicked the first drink off the stage and told the guy "I hope that gets on your ****ing pants" and then he went completely offside when he got the second drink. That was when he dropped the gun control bit and went on about all the booze in his back-stage room and how a dedicated staff member would make him a ****ing drink if he really needed one.

I also got stuck beside a barking seal of a drunk who eventually decided he was going to carry this show on his back and started yelling **** out to Jim and try to get him to do old material. He simply countered with "buy my ****ing dvd you ****, you can listen to that old joke 1000 times over".

Anyhow, I'd give him maybe 7/10.

Yeah I guess they linked the wrong clip. But maybe YouTube has videos of Wilson doing the act? I thought the article itself was kind of interesting and I wish that a link to the episode of AGT was included.

Once i saw an amateur comic steal one flat out. Was pretty embarrassing. Never really seen it since, and I guess one of my big fears is coming up with the same joke. That can totally happen.

Burr killed in Arlington tonight. He mentioned he had been in the area a year ago and had repeated some bits, but I hadn't seen him live in about 4 years so it was all new to me. He did have some great new bits about Donald Stirling and Michael Sam, and he did a full 90 minutes.

Another +1 to Bill Burr. Have seen him twice in NYC and always listen to his podcast. His first HBO special made me laugh more than anything else I can remember.
