Kind of crazy that I discovered Gaffigan so late. He's also a comedy monster.

Was pretty happy with Nick Swardson's stuff too.

His first few albums are pretty fun. He's got some vulgar jokes in there, which I haven't heard from him since those days. There is a lot of the same material on those earlier releases, but some real gems too.

Anyone check out David Spade's latest? I can't bring myself to watch it.

Is Spade watchable? I know it's like $85 to see him in Vegas, lol I'd never pay that even if $85 to me was like what $10 is now.

He used to pretty good back when there were very few really good stand ups. His schtick got old to me, but he is good at that. Not sure what his newest material is even like. If it's like the old, then no thanks. But if he's trying something new, it might be worth it.

I was expecting the worst, but his new special wasn't too bad. Nothing groundbreaking, but if you like his persona then you'll enjoy it.

New Spade is definitely watchable.

I became a lifelong fan after 'Jonbenet Ramsey...she wasn't that hot.'

Is Lopez the guy everyone accused of stealing bits? Who was that again?

Carlos Mencia is the joke stealing guy. What, are all Hispanics the same to you, Rafiki?

Some of my favorite Burr clips are when he's in front of an audience that's not exactly tuned to his frequency. Like Louie going on Leno.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmEX-QpgXjI

Burr basically does his Epidemic of Gold Diggers bit on Fallon and the audience, while laughing, is laughing as if to say "I can't believe he's saying this!". I'd love to see him on The View. Here's another interesting clip that's more laid back and unconventional.

rafiki,

I'd bet he wouldn't want the time commitment. He's talked about how much he enjoy's the freedom that comes with being a stand-up, and how he previously didn't pursue acting for that very reason.

How Bill Burr isn't a late night talk show host, I dunno. Give me him in Letterman's spot, any day. That would be worth the price of admission.

i dont really see burr as a talk show host. i think hes a great comedian but talk show comedy is very structured and 1 liner-y, his style is more long form. plus, you have to take into account that talk shows cant be as edgy and crude as he can on stage or on a podcast, so a watered down bill burr isnt really what id want to see every night

I dunno, his podcast is very much in line with the sort of skills a talk show host would have. Depends on the network I guess. Also when he's being interviewed by someone his 1 liners are gold. So I could see it going the other way.

if he had a show somewhere where he could have some more freedom, like FX, i think he'd be golden. but most major networks (nbc, abc, cbs) are relatively restrictive in terms of what they let the host do/freedom they can have.

if he was on TV every day, no matter where, id definitely watch him. i just dont think hed want to deal with everything that goes into being a major network host

Yeah Burr is a comedian who is a great guest on a talk show. I'd love for him to have a show where he could talk about issues mainly, but a talk show I don't know how well he'd do with the format. I'd watch whatever show he did every night though.

Yeah, also he could not be on network TV. HBO would be awesome, but something like FX or Comedy Central after midnight would be great

For the love of God I hope this doesn't happen. A network would neuter him.

this. it makes me so happy that he doesn't seem to want any "mainstream" gig.
he's so perfect at what he does.
losing him to late night would be devasting.

Joe Mande is a great young comic if he hasn't been mentioned. He is smart and cool and right in 2+2 fans wheelhouse I bet.
Check him out. The bit about learning about Xmas and Easter as a Jewish boy is golden.

I love Norm. He is a genius.

I hope he has another ridiculous sponsor for his podcast. My favorite part of it were his commercials for the Mangrate.
