Just invested in a pair, and they're pretty sick, however I'm paranoid because I read a lot of scare stories about certain ones being fake etc, so does anyone have a pair that can answer a few questions?

When they're on full blast and around my neck, they're more like speakers than headphones, is this normal?

Should have said, they came direct from Amazon themselves.

Because they're so friggin' loud when they're not on, it's like a boombox, and they're still loud when they're on someones head too.

Pretty sure most studio headphones are open air for the best sound. This means lots of volume escapes. Grato studios are the same way. The design is not not descrete(sp?) listening, its for most acurate sound replication.

i think i remember reading about there being fake ones on amazon. i believe it's an insanely counterfeited product.

anyway, if they are open headphones, then they are supposed to be 'open' and give off a ton of sound.

and ya google it bro.

Why risk it? Return them and get a pair of good headphones that are actually good and not a status symbol.

This.

Returning my Dre Beats was one of the best decisions of my life. There are much better headphones out there for the same or lower price.

overrated garbage, for the price you paid for those, you could have gotten a pair of good headphones that you didn't pay for the dr. dre+monster name.

OP must be a level.

Actually he's probably just the kind of person who buys overpriced **** to look cool.

"A fool and his money are soon parted," or some **** like that, I dunno.

Tbh dude, you should probably just return them and buy fake ones (as long as they look legit). Let's put it this way, nobody buys Beats for a high quality listening experience.

Can I get a list of a few headphones as good or better than Dre's that are cheaper? Thanks.

Here's a starting point.

http://www.headphone.com/selection-g...headphones.php

It's not really a top 10 list, more like a top in various categories/price points list. Can't really go wrong with Sennheiser.

when you buy from amazon, if it came from a user selling on amazon they are ussually fake. if its from amazon themselves they are prob real

Whether they are fake or real..just return them. I made the mistake of buying them and returned them after a few days. They are pretty nice but way overpriced, if it's sound quiality you wants and not looks then go get a better pair.

If you want to keep them then just use google to find out how to tell the difference.

AKG makes plenty nice looking headphones and they won't fall apart in six months. There is also a headphone thread in EDF. The quality of information is probably not even close to as good as H-F, but if you're habitual, it's more convenient.
