All - my guess is "long john" is overrepresented in the pole.

I have this feeling there are a good amount of people who 1) are familiar with the term long john but 2) wouldn't actually go into a donut shop and call that thing a long john, and are only choosing it as the pole option for reasons of regional pride or cause they're dicks or something.

You'd probably get a wedgie for being a giant ass nerd. May I please have a flour, egg, and sugar mixture fried in a vat of trans-fat free oil covered in a cocoa-like coating and injected with imitation custard filling fml.

The idea of calling this thing a chocolate bar is beyond unfathomable.

I had never heard the term before, but I'd rather call it a chocolate bar than an eclair. At least I would not be incorrect.

Holy ****.
hey, *******, noone goes to a donut shop and orders a boston cream pie, so stfu, because noone said you couldn't call it an eclair donut to describe it if you want. but the proper term is a long john, because it's not a ******* eclair.

Some of them are Round Johns. There's also a Curly John and a Ceramic John in the upper left which is likely filled with Bitter Hot John.

I'm just glad all the people whom I typically consider to be reasonable call this an eclair.

eclair > chocolate pastry > chocolate cake > chocolate bread > long donut > chocolate donut > chocolate > potato > the leaning tower of pisa > chocolate bar.

(long john is a local dialect i think so cant comment)

They don't teach people how to use quotes in eclairville? I know, it must be tough to understand for those that can't even understand that eclairs are not donuts (or doughnuts if you prefer).

i don't get it, just because i would be most likely to refer to the donut in question as a long john due to the area of the country i've lived all of my life that makes me a ******?

I'd say we might as well just call them eclairs. It seems to apply to other things that are not eclairs, so why not?
