I didn't really get involved when this came up originally, but if the dog improves her quality of life, it seems mean to improve its quality of life somewhat in exchange for reducing hers by a lot.

That was pretty much my thinking. If I can find a way to return him to her so they can go back to the way things were, I'll do that. But if this did happen as a result of a dispute between her and some other street people (and they all have a LOT of disputes with each other all the time), I'm not sure how to get him back to her and not have this be an ongoing thing. Honestly I think she and her band of merry men have a better chance of accomplishing that than I do, because they're capable of threatening/exacting revenge that I am not, and they're the ones on the ground.

Lfs,

You should make a documentary: Finding Wolf.

LFS,

60k people in LA county on the streets and 18k spaces in shelters (most are short term). Good luck getting her in one.

This. She should have a dog if she wants one. If the dog looks healthy it probably has a better life anyway than the great majority of dogs closed up alone in people's houses all day.

This all reminds me of Tyler.

It'll seem like a movie about reuniting a woman and her dog, but it turns out it's about a guy with nearly five years of sobriety, searching for meaning in a confusing world, who gets stabbed by a street kid.

One difficult problem at a time. If she were hypothetically truly interested in seeking treatment for her various ills I'd find a way.

LFS,

You'll probably wind up with a few scenes stolen from Pretty Woman.

It'll be like the end of Don't Look Now, except the dwarf is disguised as a dog

nice -- just watched that last weekend. my wife thought it was too weird.

I’m looking for suggestions for names for my new cat. He’s a boy (duh). Best suggestion I’ve gotten so far is Frodo, and I’m definitely thinking something from some sci fi/fantasy/video game series I love but IDK. I don’t have a pic of him yet, as I don’t have him quite yet, but he looks like a pretty standard Seal point Siamese kitten.

Puck

Wakka.

Babs

Mr Crane, after the rogue golem android from Neal Asher's 'Polity' universe.

If you haven't read this series, you should.

I like Puck, that's definitely in the running. Not sure what Wakka refers to, and I'd rather staple my eyelids to the back of my skull than have a Babs in my apartment.

Wakka is from Final Fantasy. Took a shot since you mentioned video game franchises.

How can it not be "Spock"?
10-16-2017 , 05:19 PM
Ah, not a franchise I'm into (Final Fantasy) but not a bad guess. I'm a huge Zelda fan but he doesn't really seem like a Link to me.

Spock is obvious, yeah. So obvious that, as a teen, when given the privilege of naming one of the new family cats, I named him Spock. Sadly, that Spock was hit by a car and killed only about a year or so later. So it sort of feels unlucky now.
