Im sure alot of you maybe dont like pets but im curious to know. Are you a dog person or a cat person and why?

Im a dog person through and through. Been brought up with them my whole life.
I got my dog Paddy 6 years back from a rescue shelter. Some scumbag wanker tied him to a post and left him. He's 8 now and happiest dog i ever met

Dogs are too stupid for my taste.

My gf and I have a cat and he's the biggest c.unt of all time. He keeps me up at all hours of the night and wont sleep at all. I have a small apartment so it's hard to sleep with all the sound he makes.

I want to hate him but I can't. FML

^^ I swear though, cats and dogs are the polar opposites. Dogs are fully dependant on you and loyal, cats are cute and demanding. Still, im in the dogs brigade! Come on 2+2, surely i got some dog lovers who got my back!!!

You can never trust a grown man that likes cats, there is something incredibly ****ed up about them...and they are probably huge social ******s (Dids).

I dont know m8 tbh. With dogs, me personally, i just want to cuddle them (Pathetic sounding i know) and look after them. They are born into a world where they are completely dependant on someone feeding and watering them. BUT, you will never find a species more loyal then a dog. They will literally die for you. With regards to being stupid, i beg to differ.
Dogs have natural instinct. Sure, compared to humans they are stupid, but, they can pick up on dangerous situations and they can read human body language. They also respond to tone of voice, body language etc. dont mind me though lol. i will preach to you all day that dogs are great!

cats pretty much just suck. Theres really no good reason to have one other than being infected with toxoplasmosis and your brain rewired itself to think it enjoys their company. (The I want to hate them but cant people, are prolly a good indicator of this, lol)

Also, HUGE lol at cat people always saying dogs are stupid. Most cats cant even learn their own name or be trained to do anything even remotely usefull. I know, I know, standard cat person reply "cats are just smart enough not to care about that stuff". lol

I suppose if you are really lonely and want some companionship but dont have a schedule that allows you to be a good dog owner, a cat is an alternative, but meh, not worth the hassle. Get a parakeet or a goldfish instead.

Put it another way. If you died miserably in your 1 bed apartment. Your dog would lay there by your side and die of starvation.
Your cat, would soon tuck into you and lavish on your juicy bits.

I get chirped pretty hard by my whole friend group for having a cat. I don't know why so many people take offence to what kind of pet you have. It's like a dog/cat pride thing. So odd.

^^^ What does chirped mean?? If it means being made fun of than thats pathetic. If a human shows love and compassion for an animal that makes them a very decent person imo. I dont know what others think but i cant help myself from feeding, birds, cats and stray dogs whenever i see them. Sure i get a few dirty looks an the comments like 'omg, look at that loser feeding dem gross animals, what a loser' well, idgaf, ill continue doing it as long as i live.

Yeah it's strange. It's like you're not allowed to like/dislike both and have to be on one side of the fence. Both animals have their pros and cons.

Good answer sir. I completely get what your saying. I grew up with dogs, but my dad also used to bring cats in aswell, they are very independant. Broke my heart, when my cat RAS, wondered in one night with a bullet hole in his head (pellet wound), i cried hard at work the next few days (Dont care if you lol at my cries) he was the most independant cat you'll ever meet. Having said that, i love dogs as you can probably already gauge. I guess it is because. like you said, they need 24/7 attention. I dunno, maybe i need to make a baby instead but still, i cant see myself not having a dog for the rest of my life
