They don't have black friday here because they have 9-day weeks and call friday "rat day" instead.

Black Friday in the last 10 years is very overrated. Nothing is really a deal anymore and if you do find a deal its usually something that is about to be phased out as old technology but still looks high tech to an unsavvy shopper. Example last year would be black friday sales on high def tvs but they only support 720p rather than 1080p. the true discount would not be much but it looks great compared to the 1080p tv that costs 2x as much sitting next to it on the shelf. Another example would be the bargin cpu's that are almost 2 years old and are like $280 because they don't have enough ram to run windows 7.

Plus you end up spending 10h standing in line to save like $100. Isn't your time worth more than $10 an hour?

Deal of Black Friday last year: bought 4 1600 point MS cards for 7.99 each.

so the best deal you could find saved you like $35 before we factor in gas and time (and hell maybe effort expended). seems worth it
