an entire sub-forum had to be created for GOT b/c 2+2 posters couldn't agree on the issue and people kept screwing up. I think it's fair to say at this point we've tried and failed to be reasonable / "just be smart!" about spoilers.

Only explanation is mislabeling V as 2 because it was the second movie released.

Edit: I also enjoyed 2 and 3, and will be re-watching all 6 before seeing this one sometime in 2016.

Welp accidental spoiled myself with major story and plot points.

Feelings about it

Spoiler:
Pretty much the story is what I thought they were going with. Meh. It depends on execution. Kinda glad I found out as now I won't be expecting anything very original or new which is fine.

I wish I could find detailed plot point spoilers -- just because they don't bother me -- and I won't get to see this for a few weeks -- so almost certainly to be spoiled anyway.

anyone with a link please feel free to post or pm me.

If you don't want to be spoiled, don't read the thread till you see the movie. After Thursday, everything is going to be fair game.

Or you could just try being a decent human being and using spoiler tags for spoilery things. Declaring things fair game doesn't make you less of a douche

The problem is stuff like tapatall shows previews of recent posts. Once Dec 18th rolls around, this thread should be closed (so people don't accidently discuss here) and two new threads should be open, one to discuss plot content and one for general talk like this current thread.

Problem is you just need 1 ahole to ruin it. Unless we get like the GoT protected thread, there is always a chance someone just blurts something out. If you really care about the story line, I wouldn't chance it. I'm much more interested in the execution than the story line at this point.

I have been majorly spoiled already on the plot, it doesn't bother me. Am also seeing it at 9pm PST on thursday night, so unless someone does a SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE type of thing leaving the theatre from the earlier show, I'll probably be pretty un-spoilt and definitely be the first one out of anyone I know to have seen it.

Still, I know people do care (like a lot) about spoilers so I think it's not totally out of line to try to respect that. I'd offer to mod a new thread if there's enough demand for one and we can douche up this thread with spoilers if we want.

Unsubscribing doesn't fix this for you?

Apparantly my country is one of the special ones, I'll be seeing it in 12 hours in a regular showing . I'll post some non-spoiler thoughts after.

Don't think this is true. In the thread devoted to the new Star Wars movie it is perfectly acceptable to openly discuss the movie after it is released. No one should open the thread after Thursday if they are worried about getting spoiled.

You can openly discuss the movie without posting open spoilers. Not sure why you think those aren't mutually exclusive. Some people might wanna pop in to see how it was (good/bad/ok) without reading major plot points.

So how long do people have to wait to talk about the plot before you think it's OK?

Unless discussion is limited to "I loved it!!" Or similar, then no you really can't. Guarantee you will piss off someone with a very strict definition of spoiler. There are people who don't even want to discuss the trailers.

At least wait til after the opening weekend - posting spoilers thursday night is uber douchey. Like seriously, why can you not use a tag?

BC people want to discuss the movie after it's out, and that's invariably going to include plot points. It's not even a spoiler after the movie is released so it's a weird demand that people use spoiler tags until (whenever you see fit).

If you care that much then don't come in the thread - its a very easy solution. If all you care about is "general reaction" then go look at the metacritic or rotten tomatoes scores / headlines.

People can use tags--nice people will. The problem is some people forget, some people are dicks and some people use software where spoilers doesn't even work. I can guarantee, if I can about spoilers, if I avoid this thread, I won't get spoiled. There is always a chance if I read the thread, I can get spoiled unless there is someone policing the thread. Jmakin, you act like you never have messaged on this board before. There are trolls.

What are the options.

1) Everyone is nice--chances of this are nearly nil.
2) Someone polices all the posts--this fixes it but makes the back and forth of the thread slow.
3) You avoid the thread--you can get spoiled on FB, by friends, etc. but at least you can't get spoiled if you avoid the thread entirely by a message board

1 is never going to happen on a board this big even if someone throws down the ban hammer if people spoil. 2 could happen but normally doesn't happen for 1 movie. 3 is the easiest and best solution for everyone who actually cares. After the movie is released, what's the point of reading the thread other than to discuss it? I guess it'd be cool to here peoples opinions, sans the plot of the movie but I can get that from RT.

No, the point is that discussing the movie in the movie thread after the movie has been released ISN'T A DAMN SPOILER.
