What does everyone think. I think that you save "some" money, but forced to buy so much that can really kill the deal. It doesnt seem so much as a wholesale club but more, buy a ****load of something and get 10-15% off.... Thoughts on great/bad costco experiences?

My parents love Costco. Keep in mind that Costco has a lot of stuff like clothing, books, video games, movies, electronics, etc., that you don't have to buy in bulk. Their meats, produce, and bakery items are very good, too.

In a steel cage match my money is on WalMart because I think of it as the people's champion. And by people I mean the Morlocks in that joint who make me feel better about my life.

Costco is definitely worth the membership. Not only are the prices great but they generally carry high quality stuff.

Never been in Costco, but I always hate going to Walmart. I honestly think it would be the worst place to work for. I'd find few jobs I hate more.

This isn't even close.

- Costco may be the single greatest store ever. All their meats are minimum USDA Choice (higher than you will find at most grocery stores, I dont think Wal Mart is even USDA inspected).

- Costco's generic brand (Kirkland) is actually good quality. Read a Yahoo article about getting what you pay for where they showed the vast difference between name brand and generic batteries. The only generic that was as good as the famous two was Kirkland.

- I recently bought a 1.75L Chrome limited edition bottle of Belvedere Vodka for $40 and two 38 ounce bone in ribeyes for $27 at Costco.

I live by myself and still buy my grocery needs at Costco. Not everything is as much quantity as you may think

Walmart let's you camp in their parking lot overnight.

Other than that, meh, fat people.

I don't think that there are enough Costco's to make this a contest. The nearest one to me isn't close enough to go to regularly and the membership fee is a waste. But there are plenty of Wal-Marts and they have lower prices than you'll find most places w/ no membership fee.

No Costco stores near me, but my area does have Sam's Club and BJ's. Are they all basically equal? Or am I missing out.

Sam's Club > BJ's, based on prices, in my area. Costco is too far away for it to be worth it to me.

They are starting to carry prime at a lot of locations too. The prices are amazing--I've seen prime ribeyes for $8.99/lb. You have to look carefully through the cooler to find them however as sometimes there are only a few.

Some stores put the prime steaks in blue trays instead of the regular white ones.

costcos 24 hour fitness deal makes the membership fee a wash imo

I spend like ten dollars a month to not work out instead of fifty or whatever

just bought my mom a laptop at costco. 2 year warranty + 1 extra year because I used AMX...and if she doesn't like it over the next 90 days she can just return it and get a cheaper one.

I don't understand why there is a comparison between two different types of stores owned by two different companies. Make either of the options Sam's Club (but not the other) and at least there will be a point of comparison.

...

Tell me I'm wrong about some mods now using shills to start threads that they were somehow paid to start for market research and marketing period.

Pro: Thread should have been locked based on zero humor value and the OP not knowing English. First reply was from a mod touting one of the options with what sounds like standard marketing bull****.

Con: People feel bad for the OP because he seems nice and is either foreign or mentally deficient, so a lock would be mean instead of reasonable. OP clearly isn't only a shill, since he has a random history of posts and it would make no sense to recruit the one guy who doesn't know English to be a thread starter.
