I am based in Delaware. My service area is all of Delaware, southeastern PA (I stay away from Philly), most of MD (I try not to go west of Frederick but have), and parts of VA (I go to Accomack a lot).
Basically, I have a large client that I will do pretty much anything for, so if they tell me to jump, I ask how high. They are a massive pest company that probably none of you have heard of but their client list is pretty impressive. I am basically a subcontractor for them. I do have my own jobs but most of my disinfection jobs come from them.
One of my techs decided to take a week off so I've been scrambling trying to cover for him. This one worked out because I had a normal microbial consulting job at Camden Yards today so I was in the area anyway.
De captain - I did not, but I hope some of the people that saw me think about why I was there taking such precautions.
Golddog - I do not know who did the White House disinfection. I do know that I would never hire that company to do a disinfection.
This is a photo taken of them electrostaticly disinfecting the WH and there are a few major issues with how they are doing it.
First off, you are doing the friggin White House, please splurge on a brand name Tyvek suit. I understand at that time Tyvek suits were in high demand but that is no excuse. If I can get them, they should be able to get them.
Second off, he is not wearing a full respirator. He is using what looks like a regular N95 mask and goggles. We use 3M full face respirators with 3M P100 filters. Sloppy and dangerous.
Thirdly, he is wearing one pair of latex gloves (you can actually see the guy's skin being exposed). He should be wearing one pair of latex gloves underneath a secondary pair of flock lined gloves. This is to prevent any exposure if the flock lined gloves get pierced or torn. That is really bad.
Fourthly, you can't see this in the current picture (maybe they removed it?) but the guy is actually wearing a pair of adidas with no booties. All of my techs wear tyvek suits with built in booties. If they are not possible to find (they are) then you should be using separate booties to put over the shoes. Having your shoes exposed is just begging for cross contamination and flat out dangerous. Steel toe boots and booties ftw.
The only thing they got right was the sprayer. They are in fact using the correct sprayer.
These guys obviously have no been using electrostatic disinfection long because when spray positively charged disinfectant into the air it is going to get into every nook and cranny, including your eyeballs.
Edit...perhaps that is not his skin showing? If it is tape, then that is good but he still needs two pairs of gloves on each hand. Not sure why he has two different types of gloves for each hand. Makes no sense
